The USA is kind of like the "Christian Vapers" forum. The borders are created initially to create a "sanctuary" for a group of people to have their own place, under their own rules. Over time, others will want to try to breach the borders, and they will be asked to leave, or made to feel unwelcome, if they do not meet the "standards" determined by those with power. Remember why the first settlers came to this part of North America - to escape the oppression and persecution they felt in England. The borders started out as a way to keep the British out as much as to keep the new colonists in. Humans may be wrong in their desires to create borders, but it inherent or else we wouldn't be at least somewhat territorial in nature.

They are only asked to leave if the break the rules/laws of the place to which they come. I think that is fair.

Is it not the same? If one is here/US "illegally" have they not already broken the laws of the land? Why should one have a legal status argument based on an illegal action? One would not need to commit further crime. The argument that people come here and live law abiding lives "after" does not hold water. The crime as already been committed initially. Who said it is a crime? The people in charge of borders, forum or whatever.

Then you have changed your mind since your OP, fellow christian. You assert that this is God's world, then this is God's forum. Have you changed your mind that humankind should be all-inclusive?

You can elaborate on that because I really don't know what you're getting at. Be a little more specific.

I have sympathy for them. I can honestly say that if I lived in mexico, I"d be desperate to come here to have a chance at having a normal life. Those people are no different from us, so I can understand where they are coming from.

I can also understand the need for immigration laws, but waiting for years, while living in a war zone, is difficult at best. It's very easy for us to say that they should wait, while we live in a fairly save country where we have clean water to drink everyday, and food to eat, most of us do anyway. I feel for them.

Ok, I know that most probably won't agree with me on this, and that's ok. But here's my take on it. This world belongs to God. Humans have separated it into different countries. We stand at the imaginary lines that we have drawn, with guns, and tell people that you can't cross this line.

By what authority do we do this? Doesn't the entire world belong to God? When I hear people say things like "I don't want them in my country", I can't help but think "This isn't YOUR country, it belongs to the one who created it!".

I view all people as equal, and I see these imaginary lines that we have drawn in the sand as something that a handful of people in the world use to control and dominate people, when in fact this entire planet belongs to none of us!!!!!!!!!

What say you?

You can elaborate on that because I really don't know what you're getting at. Be a little more specific.

I think my analogy was pretty clear, but I'll go back to your original post and point out where your comment about being asked to leave if they break the rules/laws of the place to which they come being fair.

I actually see your point with your OP, and it would be interesting to see what would happen if we did live that way - no boundaries or borders. However, it would be almost impossible to do that with existing countries and territories because they have already been established, and to try to take away those borders now would cause wars. If, back in the beginning of time, humans had started out not making those boundaries, we could proceed from there, but that didn't happen. Good thing or bad thing, we'll never know.

I was using the analogy of the CV forum because it is something that exists now, as does our country. They do have some similiarities as noted in my post. The reason I ask if you have changed your position since your OP is because, you appear to be saying that we, as mere mortals, should not try to claim things as "ours." They basically all belong to God. You seem to be saying that you think that our imaginary "lines" are used only to control and dominate people. However, when I bring up the idea of removing those boundaries (i.e. allow all people to go where they want, regardless of who they are), you come back with:

They are only asked to leave if the break the rules/laws of the place to which they come. I think that is fair.

Which is why I followed up asking if you changed your position since the OP. If everything was open, and people could go where they pleased, they wouldn't be breaking any rules or laws by doing so. There would be total freedom, and humankind would have no restriction on where they lived, or where they posted their thoughts and ideas.

In a perfect world, all countries would be great places to live, so nobody would want to leave their own little section of the world. But, that's not the case. Some places are good, and some are terrible, so it's very unfair for the people who live in a terrible place, and I think its very unfortunate that people are put in the position of having to either live with less then what a human needs in horrible and dangerous conditions, or break the law and cross the boarder.

They are between a rock and a hard spot, and it's not right.

Taking it one step further, I believe that this whole planet belongs to God and no man has the right to claim it. That was my point.

I dont' see how your analogy of comparing the deplorable and dangerous living conditions of some people, have to do with an online internet forum. Nobody is forced to come here, but they do, and they are welcomed unless they start trouble. Then they are asked to leave. I believe Jesus would do the same thing.

Listen, I read your posts on the outside, and your posts here. I already know how you feel about me and a few of the others here, so why do you continue to come back and engage me or us, if you already have your mind made up? What's the point? What do you want?

I was trying to partake in your discussion about immigration and the rights of man to use God's world in a way that created boundaries. Are you asking me never to post here? I don't feel any way about you personally, or anyone else here, on any forum, because aside from one person that I have pm'ed and traded a few items with, I don't know any of you well enough to feel a certain way. I wasn't "engaging" you, if you meant that in a negative way. I was just trying to have discussion with you, as the OP'er, and you asked "What say you?" Do I not meet some "unwritten" criteria in order to post here? I don't understand this.

I've read all of your posts, and I know where you stand. You're here to cause trouble and look for something to gripe about so you can run back to the OUTSIDE and continue with the bashing over there. Dont mistake me for a fool.

Let the truth be known. I can count on one hand the number of people who have been banned from posting here. All this crying foul that people aren't allowed to post here is nothing but pure BS.

If you have nothing but negative things to say about me, or the other posters here, which is what I"ve observed, why in the world do you keep coming back? WHAT DO YOU WANT? Answer the question please.

Answering your question: I want to be able to have rational discussions with people about various topics. If I'm in a subforum for which I meet the criteria, and I am not breaking any rules, I should be able to do that, I think. I'm not here to cause trouble, whatever that is supposed to mean. I thought your post was interesting, and I felt like commenting on it.

Asking a question: Where do you think I stand? The only thing I've written here or anywhere else is that I think this forum should be representative of all christian perspectives without bashing anyone else or posting false statements. What else do you perceive that I stand for?

No one seems to give a dang when the economy is running good. Immigrants are a good scapegoat when things are messed up. The only people that are Native to this nation were pretty close to wiped out. I agree Lisa we act like somehow we own this place. I guess you could say we stole it fair and square? I am not White and my familly came from all over the place. but we did it legally. It's a tough question but I honestly think that people would be better off if they came here legally. But how can you blame someone for wanting a better life for themselves and their familly?

Ps. As for rendering unto Ceasar take a good look at what Jesus actually said. It's not what most people think. He was getting grilled by some Rabbies and gave a very sneaky answer. It was actually more of a comment on putting his face on a coin and worshiping it, than paying taxes or giving tribute. render unto Ceasar that which is his (nothing) is actually how it was writen.

I agree 150% :)

Apples are not oranges...there is a huge difference between letting a stranger force their way into your house rummaging through your refrigerator and laying in your bed vs you offering them a place to lay their weary heads and giving them food.

That's true, but Jesus wouldn't want anyone to live in terrible conditions either, I'm torn on the whole thing. It's a no win situation.

But, wouldn't it be awesome if those who had, gave freely to those in need? And, those in need knew they didn't have to steal or hurt anyone to get what they needed because someone would help them get through the lean times and help them to be able to do for themselves if they were able? And, if this were achievable without government intervention? Just have people do it out of love and generosity? That seems very in line with the teachings of the Bible! And, many people would do it just because it was the "right" thing to do!

So, do you believe Jesus wants you to let a stranger force his way into your home? Do you believe there is a difference between seeing a need and helping vs. allowing people to drive you out of your home?

One person cannot take care of the whole world, but we can help them one at a time. I hear your heart...I know how you feel...it is so difficult to see suffering.

I am sure you are helping those strangers in your area that need food and clothing....that's a start. Start small, think big...and pray a lot :).

Jesus said in Mark 14:7-The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want.

Yes, absolutely yes! It would be awesome. We have become government reliant and forgotten who supplies all of our needs.

There is another twist to this story however. This is probably an isolated incidence, but I know people who live in Mexico, they have beautiful houses. They come to America, work, use free benefits and send their money home.

Some people will force their way in, use up our resources and send it home.....and then we do need to protect ourselves and our resources....
