Has anyone dared use an e-cig in a courtroom? I'd love to see someone with the audacity to attempt that and see what fury it unleashes from a judge.

That's a separate issue that has to do with social constraints. A diabetic wouldn't take insulin in open court unless they were about to go into shock. Most girls wouldn't take birth control in open court if they could make it to a bathroom or hallway. Most people wouldn't take a call…maybe a text message if they were just observing. That has to do with the decorum of the situation and nothing to do with the act.

I have to agree with you - in theory. Sometimes tho, there are reasons non-smokers turn to vaping. Take one of my family members, for example. She smoked for about 10 years, and then quit 18 years ago. Tho she was no longer actively smoking herself, she would often sit downwind from the smokers and inhale their side stream smoke. This went on for almost 2 decades.

This past Spring, she had a tragedy befall her and she was this close <> to starting to smoke again from the stress. She was a basket case. Rather than see her start smoking again, I set her up with a couple of 510 manual batteries, some small tanks, and some 3mg and 0mg juice. She has been happily vaping now for 6 months. Now she is calmer, more relaxed, and most importantly - did NOT pick up the cancer sticks again.

Well, what do you think about this.
You didn't mention your opinion on non-smokers who use ecigs with zero nicotine. I have never smoked in my life, but I love cigars. I have never felt nicotine in my life and I never want to. I just basically bought a whole ecig setup so I can puff on it cause it tastes nice. I actually treat it like a cigar, and just puff it inside my mouth without inhaling. You are the first one to tell me there is anything wrong with that, unless you feel differently cause I use 0 mg.

I'm pretty sure smoking a cigar is still considered smoking and FYI Cigars have a high level of nicotine in them. And yes you do ingest nicotine even if you don't inhale :)

Smoking a cigar is smoking something, but I'm not a smoker. I smoke cigars sometimes but I don't do it for nicotine, and I don't ever get urges or anything. Just like any normal hobby, I sometimes go a month or two without even thinking of smoking a cigar. I feel like I'm not a smoker though, I can't imagine ever smoking cigarettes, or being addicted to nicotine, its just a world I can't even imagine.

Do you vape more then you smoked cigars?
I see it like this you vape for the flavor and that's fine because I know many, many cigar enthusiasts who feel that way about cigars. I'd rather see a person who does smoke cigars vape any day of the week because cigars are horrible for you. But IMO to consider yourself a non-smoker when clearly you are not no matter if it's not cigarettes or the amount of time you can last without a cigar. Also to have a signature line that promotes that you really want to endorse the fact that you vape 0 nic in that contradiction doesn't sit right with me. I don't mean to come off rude or at all disgruntle but like I said I consider ecigs as a tobacco harm reduction and personally I would rather not endorse "vaping is cool cause it tastes good". I use vaping as a means to not smoke and it has been a year since my last cigarette
I feel strongly that this is a huge hurtle we crossed in tobacco harm reduction and I don't want to hinder that progression with uses that might, in some way, harm how people view vaping.

izdalion - I'm just wondering ...what does it.matter to you if a non-smoker vapes. 0 nic? why the hard line?
what is the motivation for the attitude?

I'm not being snide. i would.just like to understand. better. you have a very strong opinion on the topic and it seems to me you must have given some rational thinking about the topic.

Yeah sorry I really don't mean to come off with a attitude at all I'm just really bad at putting words together :(
It really doesn't matter everyone is free to make there own decision (as long as there of age).
I just figured I've been vaping a full year now and haven't really ever voiced my opinion on some stuff so why not lol
I love a lil' debate here and there. No ill will on anyone just good ole' highschool debate politics :D

The only real rationale for holding such an opinion is fear that it may be a gateway...
--A gateway to picking up a habit that did not previously exist
--A gateway to attract children
--A gateway to using nicotine
--A gateway to smoking

Of course, many of us here believe all of that is a load of crap.
But many people in the outside world will believe any number of those gateway arguments.

In fact, they are high on the list of arguments being used by those that want to eliminate electronic cigarettes.
And if people actually DO start fulfilling some of those fears it gives ammunition to our enemies.

Not because any of it is true, but because it can influence coming regulations.
And it can lead to inclusion of electronic cigarettes in no-smoking bans.

my friend loves nicotine but doesn't smoke. he used to snus a lot but they banned usps and regular shipping of it from europe, so you have to get fedex or ups shipping and the prices for that are outrageous for small orders. he tried my ecig and loved it so he got one. i didn't discourage him because its safer than dip and smoking.

You are saying it could be a gateway for all these things, but since I use 0 nic, none of those apply at all. There is virtually no risk for me
No, I'm not saying that it could be a gateway, I'm saying that gateway stuff is garbage.
What I WAS saying is that our enemies believe that garbage, and intend to use it against us.

On a forum where people love vaping, I like to show that I do it just because I like it that much, not because I have to.

I see no problem.

I suppose we've given up on the "Nicotine isn't harmful" approach? 'cuz cowing to ...... is not a good way to live.
