I'm wanting to upgrade up to VV/VW soon. However I'm not sure if I want to take a small step up from my eGo-T, or save some money in the long run and just take the jump to a larger PV. What did you feel was best for you? If you took the smaller steps up, was it worth the money? Would it be better to just open my wallet now and get something big and nice? Also, what set up are you currently using/loving atm?

Id tell you what I vape. But it start a flame war. So I wont. Id say do lots of research find what you like, do more research, then and only THEN should you buy something. Maybe by a cheap 50 dollar VV/VW device to see if you truly like it. then step up into the more expensive things. Some people to this day are still happy with their cheap Ego and other things. vaping is a wide open experiance, everyone likes different things.

Personally, I am ordering an Innoken VTR this week at $75 shipped. I will have to add about another $30 or so to that to get good batteries and a quality charger, but i fully expect this device to last for a long long time. The only reason I decided on it over an MVP 2.0, which is also a fantastic device, is the ability to replace the batteries. Other than that, it's pretty much everything I personally want, but it may be totally not your style. I figure $100 once for quality gear I can count on having for years is worth my cash.
You can get an innokin vv for around 40$, it vv and vw. Not bad for what it does. Has a puff counter as well, and it's around the same size as an ego. I also have a vtr, but be warned if you get a vtr it's HEAVY! But it's built like a tank. The innokin vv was a good step up for me. I was like you, I wanted to step up but not spend my whole bank to do it. Good luck

Well, I'd say that if you feel comfortable with the larger form factor of a mod you might as well go with it and bypass the Twist/Spinner phase. Maybe go down to a B&M and handle some of them. Take good look at the Itaste MVP...you can get one online for less that $45. It has a built-in 2600mah battery, VV/VW, ohm checker and passthru capability. Good luck!
I went through this when I was ready to leave the eGo style.. it was so frustrating with all the options and did I want a tube, did I want a box.. did I want plug in rechargeable style, or rechargeable batteries and a separate charging unit.. and no stores meant I was winging it!

personally, I went with the MVP and have been real happy with it, so much so I got the 2.b when I was able. vv/vw, resistance checker, priced right for me, lasts long between chargers, and can handle anything I put on top of it- but I don't get much fancier than a Pyrex tank with 1.7 single coil carto. and I actually prefer the box style over tubes.. hardly ever use the eGo style anymore, and couldn't imagine something thicker and rounder to tote around.

From everything I've gathered it's a toss up between the innokin vv or the itaste mvp, which is kinda where i already was. But this has me leaning more toward the mvp, especially if i can get it for around $45. I've been seeing them in the $70-$80 range, where could i find them as cheep as $45?
Personally, having wasted a lot of money other than now having backups, I recommend small steps. For instance, a Joye C upgrade will give you regulated (3.3 volts) and unregulated (3.7 volts) and if you find yourself vaping at 3.7 most of the time due to preference or juice taste, then a VV is a next step. I wish someone had told me that and I would have saved money buying VVs I never use.
I would make the small leap into a Vision Spinner or twist at the least. Or you can get an itaste vv 3.0 for about $30 from a few sources. Any of those will be leaps and bounds ahead of what you are using. There is a bit of a learning curve with them, but the can be quite satisfying. I still have and use vision spinners as well as my mech mods. Good luck and welcome to the forum!
I took small steps fast. A few days with a new device and eventually went straight to mechanicals and never looked back. I would say just take it slow. There are different vapes out there and you should try them all eventually. There's so much out there right now that you can easily get lost and spend way more money than you originally thought you would. Just find what interests you and go from there. Do your research, look up SEVERAL reviews and form your own opinions, that's all I can say.
I am also not going to mention the pv I use as there have been some...comments.... lately about us being a bit over zealous in mentioning them. Instead I will post a link to this handy guide by pbusardo who is a very solid reviewer.

What ever keeps you off of cigarettes is the right choice!" Check youtube for reviews once you have a few names of devices picked out. For me it was worth it to get something less expensive. I got 3 twists (at different times & for different locations) & tried out vv before deciding I prefer to build my coils the way I want them & just vape at the same voltage. VV was nice for using on the different tanks & toppers I tried out while trying to settle on my favorite. But in the end I ended up getting an RBA I really like & a reasonably priced mechanical to go with it.
If you like the simplicity of devices like the Protank (or some tank like this), carto tanks, or if you like high ohm coils then investing in a good quality VV/VW device is wise. However if you're not sure, it can't hurt to get something less expensive & try it out before making an investment in something high end. There are a lot of high end devices out there with different features & I find it helpful to take your time & experiment to find out what you like & what you don't care about.

if you are looking at the Innokin products, 101vapes has the best price I believe. $26 for the vv3 and $40 for the MVP2. I ordered mine from there and had no problems with the company or the products.
I will evenetually get a PV with changeable batteries, but not for awhile it seems(waiting on a ZNA), and when I do I won't feel bad about my Innokin purchases. they will make great backups, and I got to learn a bit about vv/vw without spending a ton.

Hello AveryW. I'm currently using an iTaste 3vv, MVP2, VTR, Provari, and a Vamo 2. This is pretty much the order in which I bought them. I got the Vamo 2 cuz' I already had the external batteries and charger and it was priced low and I loved the finish on it (black chrome). All but the Provari are vv/vw. I really like the Innokin products, the first three listed. The MVP2 really is a great mod to have either as a main mod or as a back-up to another mod, you won't go wrong and the price is very reasonable and has a 2600mAh internal battery. The iTaste 3vv is great as a stealth vape because of it's size but the battery life isn't as long as I'd like with only an 800mAh internal battery. Both are pass-through capable. The VTR is a very nice mod and uses external batteries so you'd need to purchase these and a good charger. It's nearly a pound so it's heavy and it is restricted on what size tanks can be used because of the cage it has unless you want to use the long adapter that comes with it. The Vamo is quite long and has problems with the 510 thread becoming stripped. I don't know if this is true of all the Vamo versions but it can be taken care of by purchasing a 510 to 510 adapter and leaving it on.

I hope this helps and you should really look more closely at them because there are different points that I didn't cover that you may want to know or may be helpful to you. I just ordered my MVP V2 for 44.99 with free shipping off of ebay at around 2pm today.
Actually for me it was an MVP2. Apparently other mvp owners have been very pushy about their "awesomeness". I was trying to avoid that.
The small step up from a regular eGo is the twist or spinner.
I guess after that the next step up is a VW battery like the itaste vv3 ? That's also a passthough battery
The next step up from there would be the MVP. But the MVP is such a big jump in bang for the buck, I'd say get the MVP hands down unless you're on such a tight budget; and if you're on a tight budget I'd say get yourself some vv-mini passthough cables and just plugin.
That's the top of the line for batteries.
