In a restaurant, in the bar area!

So, today - I visited a few friends while they were eating out. They've seen my "social networking" posts about receiving my new e-cig. First thing they asked me was how I liked it - and if it looked like a cigarette. (The model I purchased, the V-cig does)

I pull it out of the pack, take a few drags while the owner of the restaurant is standing next to me, start smoking it - blowing smoke over the bar.

Nobody even turned their head! I felt like I was doing something extremely taboo. Not a single word, not a single look.

The owner said he would permit my using the device in the restaurant, and would gladly tell people that it's not a real cigarette. Another staff member asked if it was "one of those e-cigs" and was interested in learning more about it since he just quit cigarettes. I sincerely thought I'd receive a couple dirty looks.

I also took it into work (which is not a public place) - the boss wanted to see it, and said "great, now you can smoke while you work!"

Perhaps these things are simply becoming fashionable lol..

I vape like a feind every Monday night at TGI Fridays on Panama City Beach. (25 cent wings and 99 cent drafts :) ) I really thought it would cause some controversy, but so far no one even looks at me, I did have a couple of the servers ask me a few questions about how it works and if it really helps. I was really surprised that none of the other customers gave me dirty looks or told me to stop. I guess if they cant smell anything they really dont care.

OR =) If they think it's a real cigarette, they're envious and thinking you're rather gutsy =)

It's really nice to be able to relax in a bar or restaraunt again but please get used to saying "vaping" instead of smoking. It is confusing to people and we need to emphasize the difference between the two actions.

I was delivering some liquids to a customer one evening after work and we met up at a restaurant. We all had our PV's out and were trying the liquids. A server came by and was interested, then I saw the manager come stomping towards me and started packing up figuring he was going to ask me to stop or leave.

To my surprise, he was interested...tried my e-cig and asked for business cards :D
