In need of some help!

Okay so I'm new to the whole ecig world. I just bought a Volt starter kit and love it. It came with carts already having the liquid in the cart. With those carts I was able to take nice long drags and it would be really smooth. Now that I have gone through those carts I got some blank carts and some e-juice. I got NicQuid peach (2.4%) and strawberry (0%). Now I filled one cart with each flavor according to instructions and it is terrible. I am only able to take less then a half of a drag before coughing my head off and have a terrible burn in the back of my throat. Any ideas or suggestions on what I need to do or am I doing something wrong?

Could be the nic level is higher our your voltage is too high for the attys you bought. If your old ones were say 2.4 ohms and you bought 1.8 ohms the wattage is increased on the attys. You need to also let the carto set a while after loading in order for the juice to disperse well throughout the wick material. Claros/stardusts IMO don't suffer from that as bad.
Welcome to ECF and here is some general info you can use. Fist will be a Wattage chart and calculator spread sheet then a PDF wattage chart then an explanation of the dual coil dilemma.

FYI also you don't have to keep tossing your carto''s most folks clean them and refill them. For me I left ordinary tanks behind and carto's and went to Clearo's mostly the Vivi Nova but clearos in general are my favorite IME. Hope this is of help.

Forgot to mention that when you buy a dual coil you have to double your voltage to the coils to get the same wattage as a single coil because say two 2.4 ohm coils but in parallel they will measure 1.2 ohms but to get the wattage you want you have to double the normal voltage to get the same wattage. You old coils may have been dual so when you put the same ohms reading single coil you would have too much voltage.

I'm thinking he (she) is not putting enough juice in 20 - 25 drops and let it sit for a few minutes after you put the juice in, also twist and drip so only 1 or 2 drops get into the same spot in the wick and keep spinning it.

I found if I didn't let it sit the 1st time and let gravity work the juice couldn't make its way through.

Don't worry about overfilling it as you can blow through it to blow the excess drips out if you get a juice taste in your mouth.

It sounds to me like you didn't put enough e-liquid into the carto. Watch the Smokeless Image demo video below to see the how the instructor demonstrates a method of filling one. I'm not personally a fan of the so-called "condom" fill method, as it requires getting juice into the air hole and needing to blow it out. I don't like tasting juice unless it is in vapor form, so I only drip from the top with some modifications of my own.

I stick a wood tooth pick into the center hole to keep juice out of there. I then hold the cart at a slight angle and drip directly on the polyfill, rotating the cart around with my fingers to saturate the poly all the way around. I then shake the cart like a thermometer. This simulates the same action as a centrifuge, forcing the liquid down into the polyfill. I then drip some more liquid in, and shake it down again. I repeat these two steps until the polyfill has the appearance of a slushy soft drink and remains looking like that even after repeaked shaking.

The carto's polyfill is now as saturated as it can be. There's no need to let it sit. There's no need to blow out the airhole, because the tooth pick blocked any liquid to get in there.

Remove the tooth pick, and replace it with a drip tip mouthpiece. The cart is now ready to vape. :thumb:

Fill and blow with the battery off. Always take whatever you are filling off the battery while you fill it and make sure it is ready before you hook it back up.

Never do it with the battery on, not that anything super bad might happen but safety first, you wouldn't change a light with the switch on would you?

Edit: Beat with secrets I didn't know. I just tried to avoid the center and blew it out after. The toothpick would make it much easier.

Okay so I did do the "shake" method with the toothpick, baditude, that worked wonders! Although, I can't remember who had said it, but I did it with the peach flavor (2.4%) still burned while the strawberry (0%) was nice and smooth. Thanks everyone for your help, back to being happy with the e-cig. dgm76513, thanks, without this and you guys I would be REALLY lost, haha.

I've tried all the different methods, and the one I use and recommend seems to work for the majority of people who try it. Glad to hear that it worked for you! Enjoy!
