Hey Vapoor, any danger on over filling a carto? I know not to get it down the atty hole, especially because I have an auto battery, other than that? My king size cartos take 1.4 mls and I put around 2 in there, figured might take a bit extra the first time....

Not really. I use a round toothpick in the airway when drip filling them. Yes I found the first fill took a little extra. Let me find a vid and whether or not you use the condom method it shows clearly the "slushie" look of the carto after being filled.

I have a mini eGo and a 1.8ohm EVOD coming. Actually it is supposed to be here now.
It looked like a good combination.

It's a nice combination. Just remember that an 1.8Ω atty will mow through your 350 mAh battery rather quickly.

I like my eVod, but I've seen some reports about leaking. Make sure that the coil assembly is tight before you start using it. The coil needs to be screwed into the base, but I hear that some units arrive with loose coils.

Keep us posted!

Just the obvious ones--an overfilled carto might leak and won't work properly. Blow through it gently to get rid of the extra juice and wipe the threads with a tissue.

Excellent, the video I watched was way darker and hard to see. Thanks again Vapoor, and Katya too :)

Phil is a good guy! Very helpful and knowledgeable!

Agree. I just get a great gut feel about him. And the time, energy and $$ he's invested into vaping is admirable...sure he gets freebies but it doesn't even come close to the energy he's put into his site and vids= invaluable. I actually d/ l , saved a bunch of his vids just in case.

Ok, time for a little carto-filling tutorial.

There are basically three methods that I use, depending on the cartomizer.

1) Syringe and needle, I use 18g sharp needle. Especially effective with Boge cartos, as those tend to be very tightly woven and are generally a PITA to fill properly the first time. The needle puts your juice exactly where it needs to go and the syringe lets you measure the amount of juice accurately. The drawbacks? It's work and not everyone owns a syringe.

Other options: an oiler bottle

or dripper caps:

Dripper Caps

2) Condom method, as shown in Phil's video. Works well with Boge cartos, but I find it messy--lots of wiping afterwards.

3) Dripping!!!! The best and easiest for your cartos (and other non-Boge cartos wit loose filler). Just tilt and slowly turn your cartomizer as you drip down the walls into the filler, just like pouring beer. :) Don't worry too much about the center tube; a little juice in there will prime the coil--just blow out the excess.

Have fun.

Yup I used the drip method, super easy I just found you have to leave it for around 20 mins to let it soak all the way through, no big deal. And as for the juice, WOW!!!! So much flavor that there is no way I can go back to pre filled now. I bought Halo for my first order, Tiki juice (not bad, but not an all day vape for me), Captain Jack (really good!), and Longhorn (I could definitely have this all day!) My wallet is about to take another hit I think :p

Okay, serious question here...

A vendor I've placed a small order with that's fairly local to me (within reach of an easy drive if needed but with gas prices, cheaper to order via web) and they sell Boge cartos. I'm getting a pass through (since I'm at the computer so much of the day) and threw in some prefilled cartos with a few interesting sounding flavors. They seem to have a positive rep around here so I'm checking them out as a source for refilling my own cartos to save money (which I am already compared to cigs but I've learned here I can do even better).

You think Boges are okay? The folks seem to have just a ton of flavors and the higher nico level I suspect I need (I broke down and had a stink stick a while ago... Blu's version of "high" nicotine isn't cutting it for somebody who had a two pack a day habit... it's like I need a "regular" to get going then can "coast" vaping).

Syringes are no big problem. Texas seems to have missed regulating those. Sinus medication? You practically have to go through procedures like getting a Secret clearance but syringes? Sure, how many ya want?

(My state is *so* weird. And I lived in LA for years. Even worked in the TV industry. Texas is still weirder. And they think they're so normal.)

Okay, 1.8% nico in a 1.4 ml carto is how many mg?

Can we use a calculator????

Yes. But no cell phones. ;)

Now, if you're seriously asking about nicotine strength and how it translates to ejuices, here is the definitive answer, written by Rolygate:

I like Boge cartos, they are still my favorite, I think Vapoor also likes them and uses them on his SD Keychain. ;)

They are a pain to fill for the first time, but afterwards, they are golden. I've really tried almost every carto on the market and single coil LR Boge and SmokTech are the best ones. They work well and if you're using clean, clear, not to thick juices, they can be refilled several times. If you put them in a tank, they last much longer; I'd say 50% longer, or better, because they are being kept moist all the time. Anyway, the key is to keep them moist, with or without a tank.

My friend Bornagainst, another Canadian, used to always remind us newbies: Top off early and top off often. :D He was one of my mentors here, years ago.

You don't need a syringe, unless you plan on filling, say, 5 or 10 cartos--a syringe makes it easy. Not worth it for a one-carto-at-a- time operations. Use the condom method, but do it slowly--the juice travels up first through the center tube and cascades down into the filler. Take your time and let the filler saturate completely before you start vaping.

I got my syringes form a pet supply online store in CA. You can't get human syringes here legally unless you're an addict, but you can get the same syringes and needles from farm supply or pet stores. Go figure. California is just as weird as Texas. :p
