vape consistantly all night long? I'm going through about 3-5ml of 24mg nic a day. I also keep reading posts how everyone stopped analogs immediately after taking thier first vape - or within the first week. I on the other hand started vaping about two weeks ago. At first it went great not really wanting a cig for about a week but I knew my nic was off and was having a cig or 2 (no more than 5) in a day. I have settled on 24 and it seems to be doing well. But whenever stress hit I "need" a cig I found myself back to smoking a pack a day plus vaping when I could not. This is no big suprise I often would have on the patch and still be lighting up ... chewing nic gum and still lighting up ... so now, I have to be aware that I do not want to smoke and reach for the PV instead. It's going alright - the thing is I cannot have the cigs here or they WILL get smoked. Am I the only one having this issue or is this the norm for anyone else?

5 a day is better than 50. Everyone is unique (just like everyone else). I had no intention of quitting, it just kind of happened. Be happy with where you are and if not, reach for the stars. Don't put pressure on yourself to follow some time line. Don't know how much you used to smoke but I bet it was a lot more than 5 a day...

Hey Freddy.
Don't sweat it. Giving up the analogs is a tough monkey to get off of your back. I was a 1 to 1 1/2 PAD for 30+ years. I've been vaping for a few months and still smoke 4-6 "stinkies" a day. Much better than 25 or 30 a day! Try a gradual transition. That's what I'm doing, and it seems to be working. This month, max. of 4 analogs/day.
And by the way, I vape around 5 ml/day. Many folks, even more. Not unusual.

Make a plan.
This week only 20/day. Next week, 15/day. The following week, 10/day, and etc. You get the idea. Whatever works for you.
Don't get discouraged and remember that every analog you avoid is a step in the right direction.
Hang in there! We're backing you up!

I just had to pipe in here...You won't die from vaping. First of all just like in an analog you are not absorbing all the nicotine you inhale. The same is true for vaping. See here: Nicotine Absorption Thread and this: Nicotine Therapy Absorption Rate Study...The last one you will look at the "inhaler" and get a good idea about vaping.

Tapering off is the key, in my opinion. I also believe that it helps if YOU have
some type of goal as well, in your mind. Not everyone here, needs a goal/stop date, but
not everyone is the same. When you reach that goal/stop date, then don't buy anymore
cigs and have them laying around. It is just too easy to reach for something that has
been our "comfort" for so long. Some need to retrain the brain to accept a "new comfort"
and if you are the same as sooooo many, your brain will accept vaping that way.
I also have 36 nic which is what I used the first week of total vaping. I now use that
strength of nic on stress days or times where I may be tempted.
I wish you the best and please make sure you allow us to help in those off times.
You can do it!
