I just took delivery of TA Virginia and TA Cuban Cigar and DNB and I'm getting the ashy notes from the Cuban as well. The ashy taste was something I hadn't realised I'd been missing from my days smoking Golden Virginia rollups. Currently vaping a combination of Cuban, Virginia and milk chocolate. There's something very moreish about it.

I may have to try this :)

I got my Inawera order today and mixed up couple of juices.

I was using the Virginia Tobacco Absolute to measure how many drops I'm getting in a certain volume and put some of it a beaker. It had lots of particles floating in it! I was very puzzled!

I thought TA was extracted from tobacco with some kind of hi-tech process and would have no particles in it. I'm suspicious that this Virginia TA is actually a macerated NET (Naturally Extracted Tobacco).

I've done my own NET extractions for the past year and this Virginia TA smells and looks like a very crudely filtered NET extract. The particles in it I assume are tobacco leaf fragments. And they will make the coils get clogged faster. But also these fragments actually will burn on the coils providing a perfect analog experience! But the kind I think most of us would like to avoid.

I vaped exclusively NETs for over a year and the "dirtier" ones start tasting very analog like once the coil start getting coated with the leftover tobacco fragments in the juice...

No I haven't tried NETs. Maybe I should try making some. Thought about it but never got round to it.

I made my own NETs from Organic American Sprit cigarettes. Room temperature soak in PG and the taste was very good! But I had two issues... I had coil clogging issue even if I filtered those in multiple stages, down to with as fine as 0.2 um disk filters. It gave me about 1-1.5 mL of clean vape of earthy tobacco leaves , and then smoky and more analog tastes coming in from the char on the coils.

My second issue is the unknown with these macerations. I have no idea what dissolves from tobacco in PG. Maybe it's completely safe, maybe all of the tobacco carcinogens ooze out in it. But these macerations smelled and tasted great. It's like crushing tobacco leaves between your fingers, and smelling them...This Virginia TA strongly reminded me of that...

Where did you get it if you don't mind me asking. If there large particles floating around then there may be an issue. I've seen where TA may cause a ring around the fluid level line on the bottle or sediment at the bottom of the bottle but large particles may be of some concern. Maybe Jim in the inawera thread can shed some light on this.

I got it from Bull City Vapor. I just contacted them about this. They'll ask Inewera and get back to me. They've been very helpful :)

In terms of particle size, I meant easily visible to the eye, some maybe half the size of small air bubbles you get from shaking these bottles...

It 99% looks like my old NETs right after straining them only with a tea strainer!

The only other TA I've got is the Cuban cigar - just had a look at it and that's clear as a bell - a reddy golden colour but clear. I wonder if there's a bad batch of the Virginia - perhaps others who've got it could chime in and tell us what theirs looks like.

Thanks.

Here is a picture of my bottle. I shook it so some particles are visible towards the top of the bottle. Sorry for the focus...

My Virginia TA (BBD 12/2015) is murky brown. My TA Cuban is a copperish golden color. I can see through the Cuban...not the Virginia.

I can't see through my Virginia TA either, so I squirted a little on a clear glass plate. There was one speck, but when I put it on my fingertip and smooshed it, it disappeared. So I guess it's a thick settling of the liquid? I never saw specks in a final mix. I tend to shake the heck outta the flavorings before i use them anyway. The Garuda and Oriental TAs I have are non-speckish.
If there were actual specks that aren't liquid in nature, I'd be upset. Even the Classics i have, that are supposed to be NETs don't have specks.
