I have been vaping for a full month. Intially I found that 12mg nic concentration was perfect for my needs. Over the past week or so, I find myself mixing at a higher concentration (18-20mg) to feel the same satisfaction that I was getting at 12mg.

I primarily use unflavored juice and add loranns flavor. I have been using mostly the unflavored from Juicy Liquid over the past 2 weeks after previously using the unflavored from Totally Wicked. COuld this be a function of the quality of the juice? Both are 24mg that I was cutting 50/50 with PG.

For you longer term vapers, is this unusual? Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm doing the same as you, except I have a bottle of high nic on the side. First thing in the morning, I take a shot of high, and then I'm good for the day with the lower mix. Sometimes I'll take a shot at night, but not very often.

I think you're developing tolerance and will continue to need higher and higher nic levels to have the same effect. I might be wrong.

Something else to bear in mind is that taking a steady dose of nicotine keeps tolerance high. Having spikes and lows allows the tolerance to reduce and lower amounts of nicotine to have greater effect.

I vape zero or low/6mg constantly until I get a craving and then I have a couple of drops of medium/11mg or high/18mg for a spike. That is much more like smoking and gives me far better effect than a constant dose.

Over a day I maybe vape 0.5ml of high and as much low as I want. I'm trying not to use more than 24mg per day and spikes are a great way to stay within my allowance but still get good effect.

Kate you are right.

This is the BAD side of vaping.

I have to force myself not to crack open the 24mg TW juice and vape it, but to take the cut 50% 12mg and have that.

I haven't increased my nic in 2 months. I just spike in the morning as I have been since the beginning. Anyway I'm still off the smoke.

As a 1 ½ a pack a day smoker of camel filters for over 30 years I started with 16mg but found myself vaping as much as I could at work and almost all the time at home so I went up to 36mg and only vape less then 1\2 the time I use a kissbox that holds .7ml per cart I use 2 to 2 ½ carts a day and by using the 36mg I save money because I don’t hit it as much

I already knew about the spike produced by analogs and it's why i've said for years that the gums and patches don't work (at least for me).

Anyway, I was a 30 yr 1.5 pk/day marls 100's. I started vaping 18mg april 4th. Couldn't put it down and wasn't feeling good satisfaction. I just got 36mg today and for the first time I was able to take just a few puffs and put it down... satisfied.

Also, holy crap... major throat / lung hit and a really strong tobacco feeling/taste on the exhale.

I plan on cutting it to 24/28ish and only hit that when i really feel the crave. Gonna drop my normal "recreational vaping" to 6 or maybe even 0.

Don't forget... Formulas are not regulated, most are not even tested.

Just because it says 12mg, does not translate into it being 12mg... Your first batch could have been 12mg, but now your 12mg might actually only be 8mg...

Perhaps you are not toking as long as before, so your smaller tokes are delivering less volume, and thus, to be equal you need a higher dose.

It sounds more like you are describing the inconsistency between brands or manufactures. Perhaps one uses heat to extract, and they are destroying what they have measured as the volume. (Thus, they are not testing the final product, just assuming that all 12mg are still there after chemical dilution.)

Perhaps your atomizer is running hotter, and you are destroying more nicotine in the process.

Perhaps the batch you have now is older, and the nicotine has degraded naturally due to age and heat and light exposure. (UV and O3 destroys nicotine fast too.)

You seem to have found your mark, within a few mg of the desired level of consumption. Now you should try to reduce your toke-time, or time between tokes, or tokes per sitting. Staying with a higher dose, but consuming less, is generally better. (You reduce your VG and/or PG intake, which is less non-active ingredient ingested.)

Just had to pop-in to throw my perception, based on what you described.

I'm a nic addict. Used to smoke 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day. I puff of 36mg straight all day long. I just picked up a 901 two days ago and i can't put it down. I'm sure it's just the newness of my new device and i'll pop back into a normal habit, but right now i just run around buzzed on caffiene and nic. Really love it tho. Oh yeah, only 2 analogs so far today. 1 in the morning and 1 after lunch. After just 2 days analogs are already tasting like crap.
