Indiana has a General Assembly aka: Part-Time Legislative Branch. They meet in meet in the winter into spring. Summer session is like extra homework with a laundry list of requirements/hoops that have to be done to advance a bill through.

It is meant as a way to give important laws a chance to be fully debated by all sides and compromises reached. In practice most bills never survive summer session and most reps very much dislike being forced to perform their duties in the summer.

Thank you for the explanation Hoosier. I'm assuming we aren't at the point where summer session is possible. I wish I knew more about this whole process.

The shops have been instrumental in this fight.

There are shops and then there are shops. I like some more than others.

Like I said before. Post a list. By area code, legislative district, zip code. I don't care, but I think it's time to name names.
Some of these vendors have stretched out over the region...
I don't owe them anything, and I don't see them fighting this battle. So why should I?

I really take issue with the device legislation.
Ron Bacon wants to tax "devices" at 24%. I think it's safe to say he doesn't even know what a "device" is.
Is that an atomizer? A battery? A piece of wire? A switch?
Again, I will go on without them... I can build what I need.
How the hell do you legislate "inhalation" to be illegal or taxable?????????????????/

Add to that, there are days that I cannot breath in my yard when traffic is heavy. I wonder if they would be willing to put a car in a bubble for a day and measure the exhaust that I ingest for that day. I can't even guess the volume of traffic.

The 24% tax is an inventory tax.

Since I mix my own and build my own, I'll be fine. I'm not fighting for me.

Yep, Me too, That why I think the vendors should be here fighting this battle. I just think they have gotten used to ECF members doing it for them. Over that.

That's what is ironic about the whole thing. Those of us that have been around here for 4-5 years, can fend for ourselves. Know how to buy a battery, box, switch, wire....
So, Why am I even in this....?

Just guessing you are replying to me?

Yep, working from a phone leaves something to be desired.

I know a bunch of great folks who vape that use the shops. I know a bunch of great folks who vape that don't use shops. I'm fighting for all those great folks because it's the right thing to do. I'm figuring that's why you're fighting too.

Well, they are. We are a conduit and focusing mechanism.

Really not sure why it seems you are upset with the folks fighting against these bills.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the tone?

No, not upset with you at all. Sorry to sound that way.
Probably more with knee jerk Indiana legislation.
I listened to way too much of the gov live feed today.
I do wish the audio was available to download as mp3. I hate being stuck at the computer.

Oh, yeah. Listening to politicians usually makes my blood boil. My beautiful wife is very worried about me because of all the times she's seen me shaking with rage because of things I've discovered/heard during this onslaught.

We have a day scheduled next week to unplug from it all and just enjoy each others company. Looking forward to that, but at the same time rather anxious about not being able to respond if another load of BS hits the fan during that day.

Good Deal.
