The real workhorses have been Brent and Ward of the Hoosier Vapers' council. John of Vaper Bank, Shadi of Indy E Cigs, Shawn of Cravin' Vapes, Jeff of Kokomo Pure Vapor, Joe of Hoosier Vapes, and I can't remember her name for some weird reason of Cool Breeze Vapor, along with Evan if Liberation Vapes who has been working 16 hour a day for weeks on end and letting his company, Liberation, be on hold during this time.

I know I am leaving folks out and I'm sorry about that. It's a whirlwind of activity. None if which would mean a darn thing without vapers and shop owners sacrificing and giving time and $ to fight. We have made grew progress and I hope there is a time that I can explain it all.

HB 1432 just passed house committee 9-2. This is the bill that would require all out of state liquid vendors to apply/pay for a manufacturer's license with the Indiana Alcohol and tobacco Commission in order to sell their products in our state. This doesn't seem legal to me and I thought for sure this bill would get blown out of the water because of all the potential issues it brings up with blocking interstate sales.

I'm confused. Which committee was that? I thought it was going to the full house today. I tried to find a live feed this morning but didn't have any luck. Guess I really didn't know what I was looking for.

!!!!!! RALLY AT THE STATEHOUSE !!!!!!!!
Please share this in your groups and on your pages!

All Vapers rally at the statehouse this Monday, 2/23/15, starting at 9:00 am in the rotunda. (Just past security check-in) Come prepared to stay all day.

Second reading of SB 539 & HB 1432 is scheduled to happen Monday 2/23/15.

We need to make sure our amendments are included and we can help by having bodies at the statehouse!

What is happening?
SB 539 and HB 1432 in their current forms would eliminate a vast majority of vape shops, even online only shops, in the state of Indiana. The second readings scheduled for Monday, 2/23/15, are the time when amendments can be put on these bills. The Hoosier Vapers have been working with the sponsors of SB 539 and HB 1432 to produce amendments that are good for the vaping consumer and shops. Important! A showing of vapers can help to make sure amendments that are good for vapers will be included and may help to make sure amendments that could add taxes and bans are NOT added.

Why such late notice?
We are getting close to the second half of the Indiana General Assembly. They usually want all the bills to be through the 3rd reading before Wednesday 2/25/15 so things happen fast.

How can you help yourself and all vapers?
Show up. Be seen. Be respectful.

I hate to admit it but I hold no trust in these senators, at all. I want to be positive about this and I like reading about the fact that we have people working with these senators but all trust I had in these people has pretty much been destroyed over the last few months. I have a bad feeling about this and I can't shake it.

That is a wise position to hold. We know that having vapers show up where they work makes them worried. Kinda' like they don't like the people looking over their shoulder? They don't mind the lobbyist and other insiders being there though. I would not see a need for a rally if I did trust everything these legislators have said during the meetings and I had to pick a day that would have the most impact.

So that's a great reason to make an appearance!

Ah, you may be making the assumption that he actually understands the bills he "authors"?

That did cross my mind. And if that turns out to be the case then things are even worse than if he did understand. Ignorance is no excuse for the mess he could be creating. I'd rather face an enemy that knows what the heck they're doing.

I was dumbfounded when Yoder said he was worried about his ten year old buying e liquid. Um....and where would you (Yoder) be while your ten year old is out on the town doing this? And his point of not knowing what the ingredients were in the bottle he had with him? I guess not knowing what something is means that something must be bad. Not one bit of research done to find out what it is to show the panel of senators before him that it actually is bad, his not knowing what it is was enough evidence in his mind. So I imagine they've probably come up with some whoppers. As far as whoppers go I have been impressed.

I think it is a Legitimate Concern that Minors could buy e-Liquids.

But I Don't see that the Level of Prevention needs to be Any Higher then what is in place for Buying Cigarettes or Alcohol.

Yoder passed on introducing his bill for a second reading before the assembled senate when called.

It is a move to kill the momentum of the amendment to move it to summer session but makes him appear weak.

Now I am confussed. I called 1-800-382-9467 and left a complaint for my Senator Mr. Head and Chair of the committee, Senator James Buck. The lady said the bill was in the 3rd reading today. I said I read on a forum(here) that Yoder passed on reading the bill on the 1st and 2nd reading and I thought that meant he didn't not read the bill. She said oh no he read the bill on the 1st and 2nd reading

I am confussed, I have no idea how it all works. Is this lady correct, the bill was read on 1st and 2nd reading?

BTW anyone know the time of the 3rd reading. Right now I am watching Indiana General Assembly, 2015 Session and the guy just said he was precenting bill 58 its 11:33am here.

I agree but my impression of Yoder during that initial reading was that he was clueless and reaching deep within his empty well for reasons for the regulations he's proposing. I know there are parents of ten year olds out there that don't care what they're kids are out doing but I don't think Yoder is one of them and so for him to "go there" I thought was a cheap shot.

By the by zoi there is a video posted on Hoosier Vapers facebook page you might like....it's an interview with two of the senators involved discussing this legislation with two Indiana vape shop owners.

1:41 and it looks like it will be awhile before they get to SB-539. They're about half thru on bill 334 Abortion prohibition based on sex or disability.

This is interesting. They just passed bill SB 330 Annexations. Its a great bill for the people. The people who are being annexed can not be bulldoged anymore. Cities have to go to each person who will be annexed and try to talk them into the annexation. If the city gets 51% to aggree its annexed.
