The intent of this thread is to gauge interest on the potential sale of individual colored doors for both the Reo Mini and Grand. Like many other readers of this sub-forum I have been ecstatic with the performance of my Reo and have consequently been using it almost exclusively. I was even fortunate enough to have ordered and received my preferred color combination. Although I’m still satisfied with that color combination, I think it would be fun to have a few extra doors to primarily change the look of my Reo for when I’m in the mood for something different. Also this would be beneficial in the unfortunate case of a lost door.

Would other Reo users also be interested in buying additional doors? Of course we are all at the mercy of Rob’s schedule and manufacturing capabilities, but I think it’s a reasonable request and certainly an achievable one.

I apologize if this issue has been covered elsewhere. :)

Don't follow that thread anymore :) Should post that on his website !

Understandable. That thread moves fast at times.

I mentioned it for clarity. The subforum will help a lot of folks find answers more readily and ain't nuttin' wrong with starting a thread here.

I think he would have to sell them without the magnets glued in.

At least with the grand they are in with two different polarities .... (I am assuming this is the problem)
I thought I could swap mine and they do nothing but push away ..... just won't work.
Something to think about.

I hope that made sense .... My red door won't work on my black Grand and my black door won't work on the red one.

I'm PM'd Rob about buying doors without the pump window, and he said he was planning on making about 100 extra doors in various colors available within the next three weeks.

This is fantastic news!

Just for my own curiosity, why do you want doors without windows? Do you prefer the "slide up & pump" method over the "squank through the door hole" method?

This is absolutely a concern. And other than shipping the doors without the magnets installed, I cant think of any other solution. Although I don't foresee the gluing of magnets being too a difficult task.

This concern has been addressed and the magnets are now being put on the mods in the same direction. But you are correct that turning a magnet is not difficult. We have one mini here that we can't switch doors with because the magnets are backwards on it. When it becomes an annoyance...we'll fix it. :)

How do you know that all the others aren't backwards and that one is correct :)

My Buff Yellowjacket, my first Grand, has the reverse polarity magnet so I can't use it's door with other Grands nor vice versa. It's going in for a pin upgrade (Yea, I still haven't gotten it off yet.) and Rob is going to replace the magnets.

Especially concerning is that I picked up a mint Buff Black/polished, on classifieds, and I want to use Yellowjackets Buff Black Door on it.

But, as I said, Rob is taking care of it.

On the last reo grand release I ordered me a black/blue(door) and hubby got silver with red door. When they came in he quickly took my black box and put his red door on it so I now haev a sliver with a blue door. LOL I would love to be able to buy other doors. I think this is a great idea. Oh yeah, our doors swaped out fine with the magnets.
