As far as I know, all but the latest firmware revision of the IPVD2 do not have buck circuit which works in Wattage mode, so unless you have the latest firmware Rev 3.4 its probably dumping whatever your battery voltage is to your coils.
Yes you are right. Do you know how to tell what v firmware i have ? Thank you

Well there ya go. Just went to look for uprades for firmware and they dont have any for the ipvd2. So for all who has one if you are running around .2ohms you will be getting full power from this thing. I am now in the market for a new mod that has the step down chip. Any suggestions on any ? Thank you its a shame i have to change my build now...was really liking my .28 ohm build there.

I really like my IPV4s it goes to .1 Ohm in power & .05 Ohm in TC. Decent battery life I get about a day on mine. @Jvincent516 how do you like your's?

The lack of the ability to upgrade firmware is the reason I haven't purchased the IPV D2. I learned my lesson with the crummy first versions of the DNA40.

You have a few choices, you can try to work around it by using TC mode, you can build at a higher resistance to compensate for the lack of proper voltage reduction in power mode. Or you can return it, and get something which would be more suitable to your needs.

Personally I would return it if possible. If you like the IPV D2 you could opt for the latest revision which from what I've been reading now has buck in power mode.

When you pull at 25+ watts do you get a normal vape?
No i dont from 20 - 35 watts its still like its turned up all the way and i get burnt hits. When i put on the crown tank .25 coil it does just fine. So i tried the temp like you said and it works just fine. Something funny is going on here....think i will rebuild just to rule out if its my build somehow. The fact that the crown is working just fine and its about the same ohms makes me think its my build and not the ipvd2. Will let ya know. Thanks

You weren't aware it wasn't firmware-upgradeable prior to purchasing it? It sounds like a coil issue...possibly uneven heating causing hotspots.

I would agree with the others, it is a build issue, the limitations of the older IPV D2 are real, but if your build was wicking properly it should not be an issue.

Only ones that will have an issue with the older IPV D2 are those that prefer low powered vape, even then it can be compensated for by the correct build.
