Sounds interesting....
sounds closer to impossible in the absence of a dedicated thermistor, or IR sensor, or something, to measure coil temp. The whole point of Kanthal-- all NiFe resistance alloys-- is stable resistance across a broad temperature regime; that's why they're not short-life burnouts. TC alloys, OTOH, are intentionally chosen by exhibiting two characteristics: a melting point high enough to be useful at vape temps, and a stable (and preferably very flat) TCR curve. Doing this allows you to achieve TC without the additional sensor of some sort. I don't see that happening with Kanthal or even NiCr. It complicates the system and reduces reaction time and increases expense (both by adding the sensor abd by requiring a lot more chip to process the data.) And what for? What we have now works.

View attachment 522454 its 24g kanthal 3mm id on my atty3. Had that build in there since probably November I think. I use it on ipv3 for flavor tasting with just the bottom air slot open at 100w. As much as I've grown to like nicr over kanthal this is one that I'll probably replicate when this coil finally needs swapped cause its just that good :D.
So is that twisted flat ribbon?

I've been sad since I got mine. Went black on orig ipv3 and the paint wore off just from going in and out of my pocket. When we got our 3li's I went silver thinking the paint would just rub off anyway...not so much to my dismay.
It seems to be cooked on better on the 3-Li. I use it all day and I haven't one scratch.

I don't have yogurt but I've got tfa and cap vanilla bean ice cream. I got a big bottle of vanillin because it was cheap and I ordered 16oz bottles of Cantaloupe, Papaya, mango, strawberry, ripe strawberry and watermelon
