That will work too. If it were me, I'd probably scrap the Ijust and buy a Kanger Subtank instead. The tank that comes with the iJust is doubtless better than a Vivi Nova, but not all that great, frankly, and has no coils available except .3 and .5 ohms. That's subohm and deep subohm, and I think you won't like it much. You'll probably make friends with a .5 fairly quickly-- especially on a regulated mod where you can turn it down-- but a .3 you're going to have to work into, and you may never care to try. Having a regulated mod, i don't think you'll get much use out of the iJust battery. Even with your mech background, raw battery voltage is for hobbyists and tinkers; and pretty much useless unless you build coils, or just want a throwaway to avoid damage to better gear. Still worse, with that tank, there is no option to use +ohm coils and your current style. The iStick 100 is a decent piece of gear for what it is and should serve you well. Up to you, buy what you want. Just my opinion.
I like the Kanger Subtanks a lot. Again, I agree with Supr. But, you now have a different shopping option... you've set a budget of appx $70 + batteries & coils ... You might be better off just getting a single/double battery mod and tank for that, as to me it looks like you're pushing the $100 total mark for this purchase. I wouldn't get fixated on the one vape shop, it does pay at times to look around to see the options. You've got all day because no matter what you decide on it's 99% certain an order won't be processed until tomorrow. Here are some vendors I have used... look at "Starter Kits" and "Mods"

www.sweetvapes.com
www.mtbakervapor.com
www.myfreedomsmokes.com

What may be out of stock in one store might be in stock in another. It's doubtful you will use the Vivi's once you get new gear. Good luck in your decisions, we've all been there.

Yeah, I was kind of going a bit overboard there. Honestly, I wasn't even factoring in the other supplies, just the basics. I do have two 18650 batteries I bought a while back and never used, since it made the Hammer too difficult to use for me at the time.

I'll probably just go with the Jedi for now, and then move up to an IStick and an RX200. I did check out a number of the other sites, but the VapeNW seems to be the best one with the clearance discount and all that.

Thanks again for all your help entering the realm of more sophisticated vaping.... I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions where these came from soon enough.

Sound plan. Before throwing tons of bucks at it, first figure out what you actually want. That's why the Subtank is so great: the vast coil selection. Up, down, temp control, big air, small air, it does it all. And it does it all in acceptable fashion, if not as well as a topper optimized for a particular regimen (that's the $100 tank we were talking about). That'll put you in a place where you know what you want. Having that in hand, we can get broader in the search.

Hey, you're going to virtual smack me, but I found a Sigelei 75W on Ebay for 32 bucks, that's with shipping. Would that be a better starter than the Jedi? I've heard good things about that brand....

Edit: That was a poor attempt at a joke, btw, saying I heard good things about that brand since you recommended the Mini Book. Just wanted to make sure a 75W Sigelei was a better choice than the Jedi since it does seem to be the more known brand.

I don't know about Jedi (other than the obvious film reference) but the 75w Sigelei is a great mod. It was the 'hot product' of Vapefest 2015. They sold thousands.
I take it it is 1) new and 2) from a seller with some rep'

Looks to be legit. Says 100% feedback with 849 reviews. States it's an Authentic Sigelei 75W TC Mod in black, free shipping from L.A.

Sounds like a winning ticket to me, and it seems to have a better battery door/battery system. I noticed the Jedi used an adjusting screw to keep the battery secure, whereas I'm sure Sigelei is a fitted system.

Oh, yes, condition listed as New.

Well, I do feel pretty silly now. Although I did learn a hell of a lot here and am ready to venture into the world of electronics that I was previously paranoid about. Yes, I'll explain, even though it's definitely a "durr" moment.

I finally got around to cleaning the Hammer. Um..... let's just say that I didn't think it could get like that since the last time I cleaned it. Not going into specifics because I will be the hearty laugh of the forum already, but I have a cloud closer to when I bought it and it's working a lot more efficiently.

I still definitely want to get into more devices now, though. This place has given me a bigger vaping bug. Definitely glad I found the community so I could break out of my shell, so to speak.

I now have a little wiggle room for getting accessories and supplies, though, considering this will hold me over until the Sigelei I finally decided on gets here.

After a little bit of that, next stop will be the big beast, the RX 200. Bring it on....

lol, I love me some mech mod, but they do appreciate keeping the current path clean. Seriously, though: be careful of your batteries. Your "1500 mAh" batteries scare me. With Li batteries ampacity varies indirectly with capacity. I doubt those 1500s are more than 5 amps, possibly a shade under. You're tolerably safe with your 1.2 ohm coils; that's in the neighborhood of 2.5 amps. But get under 1 ohm... not advisable. Let me put it this way: when I was using 18350s for a car mod-- I have several nice mechs with 350 tubes-- I bought the best batteries money can buy-- AW 18350 800mAh, rated 12 amps-- and I never dared to coil below .8 ohms. Those 1500s won't have anything like a 12 A rating, or even half of it.

Another Kanger Subox lover here! I have a couple and I love them! (two subox kits and multiple subtank minis) The subtank mini itself comes with a 1.5ohm coil and a .5ohm, so you can try sub ohm or not! (and can buy either coil just about anywhere) I know you don't build coils, but it comes with the RBA deck so you have that option should you ever decide to try. Pbusardo has an excellent video on the kit (subox) on YouTube. I build mine at 1.2 ohms. I use Samsung 25R batteries. I get 2 days off of each battery and I am a chain vaper. To me, the kit is the best of many worlds. (subohm, +ohm and building) Please at least check out Phil's video. :) The Subox (mod and tank are $50 and the subtanks are $30 at Sweet-Vapes.

Well, I don't think I've even went as low as 1.2 as of yet. When I mentioned those, they were one of two options I found for the Kanger Subtank, so I was going to get your take on if one would be better for me over the other when I got my subtank. I actually have used from 1.4 up to 2.0 on my mini vivi novas in the hammer with the 18350s....

NP. Keep the low stuff for the Sig. A 1.2 at 4.2 volts is under 4 amps. That ought to be ok. If it gets hot, of course, stop :)

Ok, going to add a bit of stuff on here. My Sigelei 75W should be here today or tomorrow, and I also went ahead and have the RX 200 on the way as well (got a little extra cash). Also have an Aerotank Giant coming to go with the big guy, and working on getting a Kanger SubTank. Now, on to my next question....

I know I was given recommendations about the batteries, but I jumped on a deal I found on Ebay (I know, I know....) and want to throw this out there since I'm getting into something a bit more sophisticated than just a battery and a button.

I'm reading a lot of negative things about the "fire" series. I've always used TangsFire in my Hammer, and haven't had any issues (other than a couple getting weak a little quicker than what I would have liked), but have been reading about how they can be rated higher than actual output, counterfeit, etc.

Thing is, I thought it was cool when I found a set of 10 5800mah batteries on Ebay and won them with a 9.50 bid. Looks like the brand name is SkyWolfEye (strange). Then I started thinking that since I'm getting more technical gizmos, the 5800 mah might have been too high to grab, although now I'm reading they're probably not rated that high anyway.

Just wondering what your thoughts on this subject are....
