I kept hearing how amazing it was, especially the Infinite version, well mine, not so much.

The black finish was sprayed onto the bottom threads which looks bad, the switch is all kinds of cruncherific and wobbley, it also sticks from time to time. i broke down the switch and gave it a good oiling and cleaning and had to recenter the insulator sleeve as it was crammed in off center. The switch is slightly better but still sucks. The wobble is the biggest culprit, but thats just poor machining. Also I was unaware this guy did not play nice with nipple tops.

Too bad, the engravings and finish look good, as does the threading.

I think just about everyone's has some form of button issue or another. Mine isn't crunchy, but there is definitely a machining error somewhere along the line. One part or another was machined a hair too large. Mine will catch some, but never in a position that it will continue to fire (just one side of the button catches part of the way).

I'm not completely happy with mine either, but it does work. It looks great, except in 18650 mode where there are some threads showing on the bottom. That said, I don't use mine in 18650 mode so it isn't a huge problem (for me) though it could be a deal breaker for others.

Infinite has a good reputation with making good clones. My Infinite Tree of Life clone is great. I'd say spot-on to the original (I broke down an original side by side with my clone and I couldn't see any difference except that the original's spring MIGHT be a pinch stronger). It certainly functions as well as the original. They dropped the ball on the Black Copper Stingray. I think the difference between the version they produced and a perfect clone is probably about .1mm.

Actually, no.
Infinite got a lot of undeserved hype because their pre sale stingray pics looked great.
There are a half dozen threads posted this week about problems with machining, wobble, misfires, crunchy switch issues, etc.
As soon as stingrays began showing up to customers, the reality set in, and the problems were discovered.

Just be careful following any hype train.
Look fornhonestbreviews from mod owners that have more than one mod to compare.

I have the SS Stingray by Infinite. I cleaned the threads and switch to include the rice pin. It is still a bit crunchy, but a lot better feel. I have not had it stick or wobble on me. When i first got it, the joint for the 18650 extension would get very warm, but after the cleaning, no issues. Infinite was over hyped, although I am pleased with the mo, it is not the greatness that it was pumped up to be. It does hit hard and look amazing.

Well, hopefully the copper/red Stingray, that I ordered from eBay, is better. It's listed as from SXK, which I was told was the factory that makes Infinite's products. The seller sent out a message that said that "the manufacturer had made adjustments because of the issues that happened with the Black Copper Stingray they had to fix because of some minor problems, which caused them to delay production in the Red/Copper Stingray." I'm not usually one to buy the first of anything. I just really liked the look of this mod. Hopefully I get lucky.

Well, I worked the switch over again pretty good, used gun butter on every possible thread and the crunchy is pretty much gone. There is still a bad wobble, I think I will take a file to the inner switch plate, that seems to be where the issue is stemming from.

A lot of work to get this thing to working passible.

To be fair, the brass Stingray is what started the hype train and I do not recall seeing mass issues for that one. Same deal there, every one raved about it. When the black copper model showed up every one expected that same level of great which obviously corners have been cut.

Mine was a real piece of work. I tried everything to get it to fire right, oil, graphite, silicone, nothing would make it fire consistently. I tried filing, sanding, shortening the throw, nothing helped. It's the only mod that I literally took to the garage and smashed with a hammer because it ...... me off so much ...lol.

Infinite redeemed themselves on the 2014 edition brass King mod, I'm highly impressed. Miles better in quality than my black copper Stingray.

Which by the way, I have gotten the switch to just this side of suck, at least it's useable now. I just picked up an HCigar version on ebay, I'll do a comparison video of the two.

I will say this much, I am staying away from coated mods and atomizers from Infinite moving forward. The finishing on the threads with spray finding its way on there is unforgivable. It's not just the main tube, the 18350 tube and the extension ring both have overspray on the copper threads. Even the cheapest versions of this clone from Fasttech don't have this!
