Hello,

When I heard about e-cigarettes I thought to myself 'hey self, this will be a good way to quit smoking, or at least limit the damage im doing'

I first heard a radio commercial for smoke assassin, but figured I better research first.

Well I found this place and now I am overwhelmed to the point that I don't even want to try it anymore. Some people are smoking alongside of the ecigs, some people are using nicotine, some arn't, there are 50 millions types of ecigs, the actual smoking process seems to be a lot more complicated that I thought, etc..

I would like to know if there is anyone out there that just smokes a regular sized ecig (maybe 100 size), regular flavor w/ nicotine, as a substitue for regular cigs maybe 10-15 times day?

It looks like the joye510 is what I want, but it also seems to be a hassle to load and smoke.

I just want to be able to pull my ecig out of my pocket and smoke, is this possible?

Thank you

I to, am brand new to this and have been researching.
I am looking to purchase my first e cig as well and have so far decided on the KR808D-1.
It seems to be the simplest to use and most user friendly and the people on the KR808D-1 Forum seem to stand by it.
If anyone who owns this model could chime in with their personal experiences and opinion it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I went through that too. I was here for 4 months reading and learning. But what it came down to was I still was smoking in that time. So, just pick a minimal kit and some smaller juice samples, order it and see what you like/dislike, ask questions about it, and go from there.

Not having a kit will continue to drive you into futher confusion and information overload.

I WANTED to quit, but I didn't EXPECT to quit right off the get go, until I had a chance to experience firsthand what I was replacing my habit with and to fully understand, by experience, what everyone here is talking about.

it seems crazy and confusing at first. I felt the same way until I got my 510 and had it front of me. its no where near as bad as it seems. you are experiencing an overload and its completely understandable to feel overwhelm. and everyone here will be more than happy to help you with any questions you have. just pick a kit and some juice and give it a go :)

I happen to be a person that loves information overload.
Like about 5 minutes ago I just finished reading the entire wikipedia on nicotine, and may of the branch offs from that page.

You most likely will not quit analogs entirely the first time, I still have about 1-3 a day.

The kr808 is a cartomizer based e-cigarette. Its only 2 pieces, and make life simpler.

You will not get the same exact feeling of a cigarette, the main thing being, the end of it is not soft like a filter, but more like a pen cap. Adding to the fact, its almost impossible to get an exact flavor of a cigarette.

They are however a nice replacement, and become a hobby.

I know im weird, but I actually enjoy fiddling with batteries, and atomizers, mixing juice, and all that other crap.

If you cant stand that, go with a cartomizer model, you still get a little of the hassle, but not as much.

Been there, done that. Still fiddling around trying to find the right e-cig, as a matter of fact. They say there is a learning curve to these things, and they are not kidding!

First off, I wanted an e-cig that would look and feel the same as an analog. I got a Sidesho from Modern Vapor. They were highly recomended here on ECF, and you can't get better customer service than Tony. (His B&H e-juice rocks, BTW) Turns out, I didn't like messing with the tiny carts. They are a pain to refill - you have to push up the inner cart, fill, and push it back down - and you have to do it constantly. Also, you have to take the e-cig apart to fit into the PCC. The only e-cig that you don't have to do that with is Blu. Blu is just pull out of the PCC and stick it in your mouth. But that is the only good thing I have heard about Blu, so I didn't even try them. I ended up selling the Sidesho within a week or so. The whole PCC concept is overrated IMO. I'd rather just have batteries that don't need recharged constantly.

Tony gave me a 902 when I ordered the Sidesho, so I tried that. I really liked it - for a while. Good vapor, good flavor, not much fiddling. I went through the cart filler experiments. The blue foam is the best. For a couple of weeks they worked great. Batteries lasted almost four hours, carts were easy to fill and lasted a couple hours of chain vaping. Then the batteries started dying off. I don't mean needed charged - I mean they died, RIP, never work again, turned into small paperweights.

Sigh. So back to analogs. Now I am waiting on the arrival of a rn4072 penstyle. I have hopes, but not high hopes. We'll see. If this doesn't cut it. I guess I move on to the huge, ugly, expensive box mods.

We are all basically beta testers in a new industry. It is not like smoking analogs, where we had many generations before us work out the bugs - well except for that cancer thing and the save-me-from-myself high taxes. How hard is it really to put fire to some very flamable weeds and suck in the smoke?

Hang in there. Go to the new members forum and read the epic thread By DonDaBoomVape - The Wonderful World of Vaping. It's long, but all the info you need is all in one place. It helped me a lot, but I still have to go through the work myself. As with anything, you can read all there is ona subject, but you still have to try it yourself to really know about it.

Best of luck.

I have the Vapor King from Vapor4Life and I do love it. (It's a KR808D-1.) It's easy to use, has great flavor and throat hit, lots of different strengths and flavors in the cartomizers - and you can refill them very easily with your favorite juice. I would recommend it highly.

First of all thank you everyone for replying, and without flaming (kinda rare nowadays).

I was frustrated when I posted I guess.

I will look more into the kr808.

When people say a battery life of # hours, thats cumulative right?, like I wouldn't have to recharge every 4 hours. but roughly every couple of days (assuming 5 min smoke times 10 or so times a day)

pretty sure this is a stupid question, but I want to be sure.

So do the batteries lose their charge quickly even without use?
As in, if I charged two batteries and left my house, the second battery that was not in use, is it going to last, or is it going to be dead or even half dead by the time I need it?
Also, the charging cases that are sold, they are advertised at being good for 4 to 5 charges once they themselves are charged, does this ring true?
And how long do these take to charge a battery, and to charge themselves?
Thanks,
Chris

The batts stay charged if not in use (I wouldn't leave them sitting for 2 weeks and expect a good charge though). I got about 2-3 charges from a PCC. It takes about 1/2 to 3/4 hour.

When I'm on power vape mode (with beer of course), my batts last 25-30 min. I have 4 that I cycle through, but am waiting for my Chuck. 1 day of batt life...4 big rechargable batts...Whooohooo:lol:

Well I am much better off now regarding confusion, but a few more quick questions (I did search, but again TOO much info)

1) If I get a starter kit with a manual switch, can I replace it with an auto one later or do I need to buy a whole new vaporizer? (the switch is the whole battery part right?)

I never really paid much attention to how I smoke, but a little bit a go I did and I found out that I hold the cig between index and middle finger for the most part, and when actually taking a drag I release it entirely, just holding it between my lips.

So maybe auto is the way to go, BUT I don't want the thing going off in my pocket or whereever.

2) can you use the 'juice' with the cartomizer set up (eg. the nebula)

Its looking like I will go with that type at first but I only see tobacco and menthol cartomizers available there (and currently out of stock so ill have to wait).

I am sure I will want to try flavored juice eventually. Will I have to buy a whole different vaporizer if so?

Thanks,

Yes, it's a bit overwhelming. And yes, you can just buy a model and then factory made carts and puff away.
This is posible with any model. The biggest decision you should be making is the model you want to buy because they are not all made equally.

Here is a good starting point.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...strated-guide-e-cigs-parts-1-through-6-a.html

And believe it or not, after you've got the hang of vaping, you will actually crave as much input as possible.

Nothing to fear but fear itself.

Wecome, Bit! I totally understand your confusion, I was in the same boat 10 days ago.

1) yes, you can replace just the battery with manual or auto (at least with the 510, that's the only one I have experience with)

2) don't know, I don't have a cartomizer.

I suggest getting whatever kit you like, just get started! Once you begin, you will find the direction you want to go, and will understand what all the details are. I will tell you I didn't even mean to quit, just wanted to play with the idea of vaping, but I am now 1 week analog free almost by accident.

Bit,
Don't get too hung up on transfering your analog habits to e-cigs. They are different and you will quickly adjust in any way you need to. I believe that auto batts have a built in shutoff which will prevent you from taking a couple of long repeated drags. I have manual batts and sometimes I do want to really lean on that button. I also did forget to mention my passthrough before. I vape in front of my computer alot (IT guy, computer junkie), so it works great.

I only vape menthol, but you won't need another kit, just use a different cart. They are cheap.
