When I switched 100% to vaping about 2 years ago I was a pipe and cigar smoker having quit all cigarettes years earlier - And it was easy to switch. Self draw vape devices are perfect for leisurely puffing away as you would a pipe or cigar. Of course ex cigarette smokers are prone to inhale - This is sometimes a problem for cigarette smokers who complain about a rough throat hit. Newer devices with adjustable wattages can solve that problem - Also adjusting nicotine strength.
All things considered, science shows vape is cleaner and safer than any tobacco smoke - Still it is not like inhaling air, there are still small amounts of toxic substances, possibly coming off of the coils - So one might be better off not inhaling - but that is just my opinion.
Welcome JordanVapes13. As everyone else already said, there's no right or wrong way. I inhale DTL and then usually exhale slowly through mouth and nose to varying degrees. This seems to maximize the flavor. It requires a wide open atomizer that allows a lot of air flow. Trying to do DTL with a restricted atomizer is like struggling to breathe.
I'm more of a loose RDL or tight DL vaper, so even the Zenith II in it's most loose config feels a bit suffocating to me, but I simply open my lips a slight bit around the mouth piece to get some side air flow outside of the drip tip to counter the struggle, lol.
I do both. Inhale into the lungs and occasionally just into my throat and then out through the nose.
I also hate when people talk about a 'buzz' from vaping - i immediately think of either a hippie or a narc..... (maybe showing my age a little there).
I use vaping as an alternative to smoking. When i smoked i didn't get a 'buzz' - after the first pack - and i carried on doing it for 30 years ('buzz' free).
