First off, let me say I'm in no way affiliated with Ben or his company so this review is completely unsolicited and entirely my own opinion.
Now to start, I heard about the turbo carts from vapornine.com after reading some reviews on here. All my vaping has been exclusively V4L products and I've been satisfied with that. BUT, I'm always interested in trying something new and seeing some competition amongst these companies can only help us all. I like the hard cap premiums from the other company but they're a pain to refill and get hot. After seeing someone's vid comparison and hearing turbos were coming in soft caps, I waited impatiently. I saw them come on the site and promptly ordered 10 boxes(overkill I know, but I'm impulsive like that) without even knowing what I may be getting. I placed my order at 1:44 p.m. on 4/8, received shipping confirmation and a tracking number at 2:00p.m. on 4/8 and got them out of my mailbox at 1p.m. today 4/10. Less than 48 hours from order to delivery is amazing in my book and speaks volumes for Ben's promptness and customer service. It makes me a definite return customer.
And with that out of the way, I'll give a quick initial review of the carts. First thing I noticed is they come individually sealed in plastic inside the box of 5 with the rubber condoms on each end. Not a big deal really but it just seems a nice touch to know they have no contamination. They look nice. Matte black with a greyish silver vapornine printing on the battery end. The soft cap feels good and is a nice tight fit. The carto is a tiny bit longer than the other company's premiums but not much. Removing the cap I see a perfectly centered airtube and nice fluffy batting running almost right to the cap. My initial thought is that it will hold alot of juice and it didn't disappoint. Filled it with a syringe to get an accurate measure on how much it would take and got 1.4ml in before it pooled at all, going slower with the syringe, I may have gotten 1.5ml. The cap itself has a small grove around the outside in the middle that seems to help it seal really well and hold in tight, while still being easy to remove. Put the cap in and gave it a quick spin. It threaded onto my favorite shorty auto battery perfectly, unlike a few cartos I've had that felt loose or others that went on really hard. Now what you all probably want to know, how does it vape? Put simply, phenomenally! A perfect draw on this battery, even though some of the autos from the company I have them from are picky. Huge clouds of vapor, especially at 3.7v(though I have no experience at 5v), it's far more vapor than I'm used to. Throat hit is there but not extreme but the juice I'm using has never had a huge throat hit(and that's not something that matters a ton to me anyway). Flavor? Well flavor is subjective, but this cart delivered far more using MCC from TV 24mg and 20%VG than the other company's soft cap premium I also had it in. The vapor is cooler but the carto hasn't gotten warm on my lips either. Something I can't say about the other brand. All in all, this cart is a big winner to me and makes my supply of the other brand become relegated to emergency use. Suffice it to say, when he get's more in, I'll be ordering another 10 boxes. And smilin' about it the entire time. Sorry if this is a little long winded.

I'm glad you went into so much detail--given that the carto doesn't get hot on the outside and that it's holding 1.4ml... it does sound like a very similar design to the hardcap Turbo. Fabulous vapor production/good flavor/slightly cooler vapor than the 'other' soft caps all implies the same. Man, I'm glad I also ordered *mumblebignumbermumble* packs, lol.

Heh. I did the same thing, ordered 10 boxes without having ever tried them myself. Every review I've found about them is positive, so I figure I had nothing to lose and will most likely save money by skipping over all the "not best" cartos out there.

I'd be interested to hear what the refill point is. If, for example, they're holding 1.5ml, how much is left in there when it's time to refill? I don't have the experience to gauge my usage very well, I mostly have to wait for funky taste to make an appearance. It'd be nice to know if I'm refilling at the right time to avoid premature carto death.

Gribeau, I'm not the best judge on when it's time to refill myself. I rotate three or four different flavors thru the day and end up getting between 10 and 15 drops in each at the end of the day. Usually with a slight overfill. The one time I tried to wait and see just how far I could go, I got the worst plasticy, funky taste and when I took the cart apart to see if I had indeed burned it badly, I had. So now I just top them off every day and at the end of the week boil all of them I used that week.

Gribeau--you'll catch on to the lessening in flavor intensity as you keep vaping. These give pretty adequate warning. That said, with soft caps it's pretty easy. I refill my hardcaps with ~1/3-1/2 a ml every few hours. Since you can pop the top off with no problem, you can get a better idea of how dry the filler is getting. I use the condom(sigh) refill method with the hardcaps but since I destroy, er, remove the caps immediately upon first fill, I can judge whether they'll take a bit more or are over saturated.

I use Scottbee's method of partial condom-refill followed by thermometer shake and then see if it's still visibly damp on top.

I gravitated into the whole "cycle four cartos all day" thing on my own, I do NOT wanna mess around refilling at work or in a bar. I just wasn't sure if I was actually avoiding (further) damage or not. I'm pretty sure all of my current carts are at least a little burned, I don't want it to happen to the new ones coming in the first time I use them.

I don't trust my tastebuds very much at this point, I still have smokertongue. I figure by the time I can taste the disgusting it's past time to refill.

[Note: This is re regular cartos but I imagine might be the same for all or most other types too.] Another symptom I have noticed that a carto is spent or close to it, which I don't recall seeing mentioned (and wouldn't be useful in loud environments regardless), is that often a different kind of sizzle noise sets in, after I take my drag. People talk about the desirable sizzle of a full-ish, optimally-performing carto, which occurs during a hit; but the kind I mean kicks in when empty or almost, continuing for a sec or so AFTER the drag was completed.

When in doubt, if I put my PV up to my ear immediately after hitting and removing from my mouth, that residual sizzle if present will be easy to detect. To me anyway it also sounds a little diff than the good kind of (liquid) sizzle, in addition to occurring at a different point in the process.
