Hello all!! Ok so i am very new to the vaping.community only.been at it for a couple of.months. i just got a innokin MVP v2.0 a few days ago. Absolutely looooovvve it btw. I am currently using a mini protank 3 with a "drip tip". I am wondering if/how to put an actual drip tip coil on here. Like i dont know all the terminology and such so i may not be describing it right. I want the 3 post bottom coil that you have to wrap the silica wick or.cottons wicks on? Any help would be much appreciated. Canyou use those on the.mvp? Retailer who sold it to me said i could but i dont know how to go about it or how to "build" the coil for operation. Was going to buy the atty of ebay, probably the omega dual coil dripping atomzer muffler tip, and it comes prebuilt but was wondering if.anyone has any guides or knows of some.on how to build it with the silica wicks and cotton wicks. Also, what kind of difference does the silica from cotton wicks make? Thanx in advance.

Well, Im somewhat new as well but I have an mvp v2 also.
I took the tank off that it came with, and got a helios dripper. From what I understand, your build has to be at least 1.5 ohms to work with the mvp v2. The guy I bought it from built it for me, but im interested in learning how to build myself. I know he did a ton of wraps with a small wire, and put some cotton in it. Lol ill see about posting a pic
:)

You are talking about a dripping atty. A drip tip is the mouthpiece on any topper. There are several different types of dripping atties to choose from that will work on the MVP. You are looking for a dripping atty that uses a 510 connection. You can get the kind that look like cartridges from a kit that looks like cigarettes, and those don't have to be rebuilt. Then, buy a 510 drip tip to put on top of it, drip in your juice, and vape.

Rebuildable drippers (RDA) take a bit more know how. For those, you need to wrap the resistance wire (usually kanthal) into a coil yourself, and mount it to the dripper by the positive and negative posts. Some RDA's have posts with holes drilled into the sides that you can stick the legs of your coil through to mount, and for others you need to wrap the coil around a screw on the tops of the posts. I find the kind with the hole drilled into the sides to be much easier to deal with. Then, you can use some cotton as a wick to feed juice to the coil. All in all though, I recommend you stick with the regular, 510, dripping atties that you don't need to rebuild at first, until you know a bit about ohm's law, and how many coils you'll need to make out of the kanthal for your MVP to fire. You'll be aiming for something above 1.3 ohms for the MVP.

You can google for RDA builds and look at youtube videos to get the best picture of what people are doing with their igo's and what not. That has been the most helpful thing for me to understanding what's going on.

You need to distinguish between RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer) and RTA (rebuildable tank atomizer). It sounds like you are interested in the dripping style of atomizer, in which you put a few drops of juice directly on a wick and coil and vape until done, rinse and repeat.

This is to be distinguished from rebuildable tank atomizers that have a juice reservoir or tank and a system for feeding the juice to the wick and coil.

The wick and coil in both systems look pretty similar.

You can do just about anything with these systems and the MVP with one exception: sub-ohm vaping. Sub ohm vaping uses a very low resistance coil so you get maximum heat out of it for a given battery voltage and maximum vape. In the MVP, the voltage, power and current are all regulated and you cant use a coil with a resistance of lower than about 1.2 ohm because the regulator will not output more than about 3.3 ampere. So you cant send a load of power to a small coil.

Other than that, you can just figure out what you want from an RDA or RTA or both and keep on trucking.

I will offer this though. Most people I think learn about clearomizers and cleaning and dry burning their wicks and coils before moving into the rebuildable space. It's a good intro to the technology. And some of the clearos are about as good as the RTA and RDA *ducks*.

I ran mine with a trident v2 and a twisted coil at .9 ohms. Worked grear

Why did yours work at .9? Thats strange. I cant wait to get some wire and tinker.
Question on that... if i get wire, and do my first build, then try to fire it up on my mvp, it wont blow up or anything if its below 1.2 ish right? It just wont work?
