After using this for roughly one day, I love the mod.
The Kanthal Quadruple BVC (Bottom Vertical Coil) 0.36ohm, I am not crazy about.
I prefer the original .50 scion coil.(which I have plenty of)
I haven't tried the Kanthal Plexus Mesh Coil 0.15ohm yet.

You get a Proton Scion Kit
Insert screams of joy that continue throughout
And you get a Proton Scion Kit!
And you get a Proton Scion Kit!
And you get a Proton Scion Kit!
And you get a Proton Scion Kit!!!
Lol remind you of any particular talk show?
Maybe I’ll jump on the couch now:) hee hee
I'm reading all that everyone's doing with theirs an am pretty embarrassed. I turned mine on, set it to 11w, threw a coupla tanks, and have been vaping away happily.

There's apparently a lot of good stuff in there that's wasted on the likes of me - sorry 'bout that.

Does THIS one have voice-activation and "Romantic lights" too?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Firstly, thanks to Innokin for your extremely WONDERFUL PROTON KIT !!!!!! I never thought that I would have a chance at winning and now here we are. I feel like singing a tune from my parents generation.

I'd totally given up on the double 18650 mods after a series of SMOK problems. Had several unconfirmed married 18650's but needed a confirmed married pair. Got um.

I've not used the tanks yet but the mod is everything and even more than I had heard and hoped for. I used one of my tanks and juice I was familiar with, 24mm Siren V2 (next is cleaned and ready to wick, my Ares).

I took the mod to a large B&M yesterday and showed the manager to see if they had the RBA. I told him what I though and let him have a go. He is putting it on order hopefully he remembers the reason I went, the RBA, Hee Hee.

Immediately and on the first draw, I noticed a stable continued draw and power. It is solid and doesn't feel like it requires too much protection to keep it from breaking. No issues with
any space between tanks and mod. Joystick is solid. Light and not too heavy, comfortable in my hand.

Strangely, I don't quite understand why but my build held up far better compared when I used with other Mods and brands.

At first glance, the interface/menu looks intimidating but is quite easy when ya play around with it. I even tried the TC mode... :) I'm best at hands on learning and a reliable you tube video like Daniel, then the instructions come into full play.

It's early days but she is looking good and I've not even got to the tank yet.

To be continued...

I just had to share the gratitude and joy:)

I'll be back for dyslexic editing

@Opinionated, As I mentioned in my post, thanks for taking the time and effort to start this thread, that to is awesome :)

I took the liberty of checking out your blog and am glad I did. I'm starting to tinker with DIY ejuice and that's indispensable info!

I dropped it. Not the hardest I've dropped a mod, I kicked it with my knee so it was a glancing blow to the hard tile below.
I think the mod lives. I had to beat the base of the tank back together, it was starting to come apart and leaking. I'm amazed I didn't break the bubble tank since it sticks out.
I give it a B for falls. Not exactly pick it up and go but it could've been much worse.

My thoughts on the Scion 2:

First off the Scion is my favorite tank atomizer by a long shot.
The version 2 has a much better filling option as the original can be difficult to unscrew the cap when refilling.
However, I have found, and bought, the original for $10.50 recently, where the 2 is roughly $22 -$24.
For the price difference I'll stick with the original.

Nothing wrong with the 2, matter of fact, it's better due to the refill method, but not worth the price difference IMO.

My thoughts on the Plexus .15 mesh coil:

I run all of the Innokin coils at the minimum recommended wattage. 70 watts on the .50, and 60 watts on the .15 Plexus. I have several of the .28 coils (got them with the tanks I bought), and I do not care for them at all. YMMV

Been using it all day and the flavor is as good as the regular .50 original coils. Not worse, not better, but equal. (not a bad thing, both give excellent flavor IMO)
It does seem to make the draw a lot more "airy" than the regular coil.
Longevity is something I can't comment on yet.
I do have another tank that uses mesh coils, the fireluke mesh, and those coils seem to last a very long time, so hopefully the same is true for the Innokin.

Thanks for the info on drops. I will drop everything eventually and I've been on the fence on this mod but I need to be able to drop it successfully.

LOL you'd think I'd have "The Drop" tank, but I don't.

Anna

Well... he down-rated it a "B" because the tank had problems after hitting the floor, and you wouldn't use that tank anyway since it's definitely a DL tank so it's likely the mod would do fine for you..

I've not dropped mine (and I've literally never dropped a mod in the entire four years i vaped) so i can't make promises but it does seem like what I just said would be true and the mod would survive a fall or two..

More than that might be questionable though..

Yes the mod seems to live and function like it did. I wondered if the lightness would help it in a fall.

The problem with the base is fixable with some blocks and a mallet. Another problem I'm amazed I've never experienced before is the fall moved the wicks and I think that's where the leaking was coming from. The B was mostly for the tank and RTA deck, the set up I have. Partly because it wasn't a hard enough fall to get an A for the mod.

For this particular fall the tank would probably get a B because it was fixable but you would be screwed if away from home with only this set up, and I'm amazed the bubble tank didn't shatter, it did take a lot of the force. I think I've only had one other base separate in a fall.
The deck would get a C, although I haven't rewicked, realistically that's the best option.
The mod would get an A because it was pick it up and go.

I often drop mods out of pockets. I hadn't thought of it until now but the times out of my hand could be nerve damage from my formerly pinched nerves. I'm closing in on a year since cervical fusion and I do still have spots of numbness which at a year pretty much means permanent. I used to just drop things, but this time I did a bump and drop out of my hand.

How are your Plexus coils doing? I've put about 2000 pulls on mine in the past two weeks, according to the puff counter, and it's just now starting to feel like its time is coming near. Pretty soon I'll swap it out for the quad-coil, and see if the Plexus can be torn down and rewicked.

Sounds interesting to me! If ya do and it is rewickable, could you please take a couple of pictures for those of us that would like to attempt to give it a try

Well, it works, and it doesn't. Like many factory coils, the positive contact pulls out the bottom, and then you can remove the rubber gasket. Once those were removed, I was able to push the coil and wick out the bottom, but there is a secondary wick sandwiched between two layers of the coil housing, and I wasn't able to get that apart. Instead, I gave that part an alcohol soak and left it on my windowsill to dry in the sun for a few hours. I wrapped a fresh piece of cotton around the mesh "coil" after torching it gently to remove the blackening, and installed it back into the housing. It wasn't pretty, but it was functional. For a minute. And then I got a dry hit, on a full tank. I suppose I could give it another go, but I don't know how long that cotton trapped inside the coil housing is gonna last anyway, so it's not a forever solution, in any case, unless I can get it more apart without damaging anything.

Just now I picked up my Proton and clicked the fire bar to light up the screen and check the battery level. At my wattage (95w on the included quad-coil), it heats up quick enough I can usually hear a sizzle when I do that. Only this time, I clicked, and it sizzled, and it didn't stop! Not immediately, anyway, it did stop when I clicked the button again as soon as I processed that it was still firing. I really hope this turns out to be an isolated incident, but I'm going to take the batteries out for now just in case, because I have to leave the house for a while and it has me spooked.

I didn't win one nor have I purchased one yet. I really appreciate everyone that has contributed to this thread because I'm very interested in this vape and the information is helping me make my decision. Solely based on price I think I'll wait until just a mod comes out and not a full kit. I have more tanks than I know what to do with right now.
This has given me a lot to consider. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with this kit. It really helps those of us on a major budget
