I recently picked up some LG HG2s and my nitecore i2 charger died on me coincidentally. I was browsing around for a new charger and what I'm finding is that chargers from xtar and nitecore either say they support Li-ion batteries or they say Li-ion/IMR batteries. Will charging INR batteries in these chargers be fine? I can't find anything that specifically says it charges INR batteries. The most I could find was that the nitecore chargers are optimized for the IMR chemistry.

Also, on illumn it says the normal charging current for the HG2s is 1A, max being 4A. Would running 2A charge on these batteries be fine? It's obviously within the limit, but is it just going to shorten the recharge cycles or increase the risk of the batteries venting or something like that? My thinking here is that if I can shorten the recharge time I can monitor the batteries better vs having to leave the unattended at times.

My mod doesn't support internal charging. I actually got it recently. After reading about the benefits of external charging and given how quickly my previous mod with internal charging only went out i won't be going back again. Fortunately i had a charger from my mech mod days. I know in my original post i said it stopped working but it has started working again. Still, I'll probably get a newer/faster charger

Check me if I'm wrong here, and read up more on the battery aspect...

I'm used to the 4 bay chargers where I don't think you can 2A charge with the Xtar or the Nitecores.
I can do 2x2A on my Luc4, as well as 4x1A which they wont do either. 2 bays? I don't know.

I've never used 2A charging on my 18650s, don't think I would and only rarely even use 1A.
Spec or no spec, I'm not even sure why. Probably just being generally kind to the cells when I'm not in a hurry... and I'm seldom in a hurry. :D

INR (lithium nickel) is a "hybrid" IMR (lithium manganese) battery chemistry. Both IMR and INR are Li-ion batteries (lithium cobalt). In short, you can safely charge your INR batteries in any Li-ion charger.
