Any plans today or are you just too tired?
Not that tired, if I get drowsy, I will put my feet up in the recliner and get a few hours sleep. If i'm too tired after breakfast, I may just go to sleep. I can run my errands tomorrow if needed.

I think it is more likely politicians using the helicoptor mommy brigade to vote their agenda. They will gladly step on all people's freedoms to assure that their babies will live in a world where nothing can harm them. They don't realize they chose the greater of the two evils on this one and took out the competition for the tobacco industry. From what I have heard there is similar legislation on the books in Chicago as well. It will continue city by city where cigarettes are the most heavily taxed. They are losing so much tax revenue from people switching to vaping they have to stop it.
Each year nearly 600 million trees are cut down to manufacture cigarettes. This was not a move by the hippies or environmentalists who are fighting to protect the forests. More likely the Stepford wives protecting their children from ever having to make choices in life. That fear is used by politicians to take away the freedom of choice for all. It's sad that the kids now are being used to further political agendas. They will be living in the aftermath that greed has left behind without the freedoms we used to enjoy. I am not afraid of my son having to make difficult choices in life. I am afraid that all his choices might be made for him..

Kids have always been used to further agendas, sad but true. And yes I know they are not really hippies but that is what I call them here in my home and everywhere else I refer to them as something that would not make it past the filters here so it would look like I was trying out morse code. BTW RJR helped fund an ad that was provape. That was brilliant of them they show their support and the hippies fight harder. The saddest part you are right our children are screwed.

My kids are (were) older than this new generation. My son is 34 and my daughter would be 27..

Thing is, they couldn't wait to move out and have their own lives and freedom. (And I don't think it was because I was a bad mom or anything.. lol) and I wanted the same thing.. was SO excited to move out on my own. Had my first job at 15 saved and saved for those first increments of freedom..

Getting that first apartment was heaven on earth and my own children were equally excited to start their lives..

Todays graduates aren't the same at all.. I have a niece who has just graduated from high school and doesn't even have her drivers licence yet even though her dad bought her a car. Her choice...

We offered her to come stay with us and work at my husband's work for a while til she starts college.. she said its too far away from home and she didn't think she could be apart from her mom that long. (Its a 45 minute drive.. lol)

And I'm seeing a LOT of that from kids the same age.. no excitement to leave the nest.. no interest in beginning as adults, an almost fear of freedom.

I can't even come close to figuring that out..

I'm 37 and have a 15-year-old daughter and it is like pulling teeth with a spork some days. I hate the new gen I guess the good thing about them is they will never take over so I don't have to worry about that just about who is going to feed them after we all die off

I think it comes down to how much freedom a child is given in early years.
When I was a kid at the age of 7 or 8 we would go out on bikes roaming for miles with the oldest in the pack being maybe 10.
These days most kids don't get to leave the house without an adult until they reach their teens.
The fear of the parents to let their kids explore is actually totally irrational .
Kids are at no greater risk of harm today than 50 years ago.
My chickens behave the same , one may escape from the run and in no time are wandering all over the place. If I leave the door open the caged birds might venture out but are too timid to go far.

I agree its likely that... it's a good explanation for the behavior really. One of the most logical I've ever heard..

If you let a 7 year old run loose without adult supervision you will be arrested, charged with neglect and your kids will be taken by CPS. There was a lady on the national news a while back who was arrested at work and her kids were taken because her 10yo was playing at the park by herself. That made National :censored: News. Somebody else knows what's best for you and now it's enforced by law.

Then I guess we're going to have to get used to having adult babies kicking round the place.

I believe they are conditioning future generations to be subservient and docile. They have learned by this point that a society of free thinkers is dangerous and difficult to control.

Hiya,Skunk:) I live in the sticks. I like it here.
I want to live in the sticks but close enough to a big city to enjoy some of the conveniences they offer. Since we moved here, the LV area has grown from 250,000 to over 2.5 million. It is too big now for my tastes. It is now over 1,000 square miles of city. It was different when I was a kid and I am ready to move somewhere more family friendly. This is not the best place for my son to grow up. In fact it's one of the worst.
