I'm very glad for you and thanks for noting that the question is about smoking, not nicotine use. I wasn't clear about that earlier. I agree that you should say no and that's completely honest. If they come back and ask further questions if you test positive for nicotine, then you can explain that you don't smoke, you use carcinogen free nicotine via a vaporizing inhaling device like BlueMoods did.

Regarding the original post; can they even do this? They're screening for cholesterol and blood sugars, and I am sure they wouldn't even be allow to inquire about diabetes and chloresterol related questions if they were doing new hires.

Speaking as a former computer programmer and now nurse that's worked in the insurance industry, I found this thread fascinating.

BlueMood - I'm incredibly impressed that your insurance company 1) actually listened to your evidence (receipts, etc.), 2) accepted that you're now a vaper instead of a smoker, and 3) accepted that vaping is not/significantly less dangerous than smoking and gave you non-smoking rates. That is a huge step in the right direction. Can you tell us the name of the insurance company??

I apologize for pointing out the potential consequences of doing something that might be construed as a less than honest approach, especially when "a huge corporation" is involved. I investigate these matters every day and when we catch it, we prosecute aggressively. I thought that might be an important piece of advice to you. If you don't want to hear it because saving money is more important to you than what might happen as a result of the way you try to beat the system to do it, that's your decision and I'm sorry to have brought it up before it could be too late.

If one has a large claim, they will find out whether or not one lied, then deny the claim.

You know - it would be funny... if it wasn't true. That was the absolute rock bottom for the health insurance industry. There's such a thing as "preexisting condition" that they were trying to stretch into something like "preexisting cognition". Omission of anything - especially anything in your history you weren't even aware was in your medical record - meant you were an evil lying ....... and were interfering with insurance co's option to connect the dots, no matter how illogical that dot connecting might have been. Ergo: right to cancel.

Not to get off topic, but I've been in the insurance industry most of my career. Insurance companies don't exist to pay claims. They exist to make a profit for their shareholders. Bottom line.

I am, I purchased some cinnamon liquid to see if that helps with throat hit only 0 nic for at least 3 days. Fingers crossed, wish me luck. I let you guys know how it goes.

If I were you I would also get a bottle of menthol flavoring, unless you hate menthol. I buy the crystals and dissolve them in pg, but pre-mixed should be just fine. Add some to the cinnamon juice. Start with a small amount, like a couple of drops to a tank, then add more to taste. It can become quite strong and the combination can IMO mimic TH better than one of the flavors alone. As always, YMMV.
