Yes, all my doctors are very happy that I've quit the stinkies. None of them have anything bad to say and one has converted from cigs to ecigs because of me. Every doctor I've talked to said no one every quits on NRT's.

I think my Gastro NP is against nicotine in any amount for any reason. I could kind of understand it when they thought it may have been Crohn's or Cancer (just barely because at that time I was at 0mg and 5mg and she was throwing a fit).
Now it's just annoying.

I know. I was so floored I couldn't even say anything. It would having come out like "You're a .......*** idiot!" Instead I just shook my head and walked away!

You should have gotten a tissue, taken a vape and then hold the tissue to your mouth and blow the vapor through the tissue. Nothing shows up on the tissue. If you know a smoker, have them do the same thing and have your co-worker present during this lesson and examine them after.

Stoopid people in this world....

Holy crap, you're right! I just tried this after I inhaled the vapor and I tried it again without inhaling first. Both times there was absolutely nothing on the tissue whatsoever. NOTHING!!

I can't wait for the opportunity to use this as an example! Thanks!

Heres a link to a video that does a side by side comparison test that is pretty cool. Sort of a mythbusters type theme. but it really makes a good point about how tobacco smoke pollutes our lungs and vapor doesn't. Not as good as Robin's idea for a quick let's prove it now test.

That is the exact video that I saw a long time ago. Which I remembered and gave me the idea when I saw that post. :D

Sadly, my employer specifically lists e-cigs as part of their "no-tobacco usage" policy when it comes to insurance.

My only recourse is that if they ever test for nicotine is to tell them that I am quitting and using the patch. Not honest, but neither is their "no tobacco" policy.

You could say that you live with a smoker. I believe that's equal to the amount of nicotine they'd see in your bloodstream if you vape 100% of the time.

I was curious when I took my test if my nicotine levels would be lower because of the whole "e-cigs don't get you nicotine the same way" etc. My levels were even higher on the e-cig than the real deal. LOL! It's because I guess I can use the e-cig more and I do inhale so you are getting nicotine.

I love this thread! Thank you QTPie for starting it.

:vapor:

My doctor still thinks e-liquids are dangerous, but is super-happy I've quit smoking (after something like 45 years). My colleagues? Some think it's wonderful, some think I'm cheating, and 3 have been converted to vaping.

I'm a nurse and I work in critical care and have for the past 9 yrs. All the doctors I work with love vaping as opposed to smoking. I have 2 pulmonologists that vape too! I don't give the time of day to people who think it's cheating. They don't think the gum or patch is cheating so what's the difference? So eliquids are dangerous well so is smoking. I know from personal experience that I feel better vaping and have much better lung function vaping. So I will take the smaller of the evils for me!
