OMG. There are so so many. Really depends what you are looking for and how you like to vape. Do you like cartomizers, atties, tanks, What price range. If you are looking to try something a little cheaper but IMO is a great inexpensive mod similar to the Provari with all the same features, there is the Vmax. If you like atomizers and do not want to have to drip there is the Reos which are great too. Does size matter? (size of the mod that is ). It just really depends on what you are looking for in a mod.

We too have been vaping the ego. Specifically we just ordered a few more ego c twists after just receiving one of these this week. After dabbling with an 808 configuration, we quickly switched to ego.

But at some point after seeing so many reviews we would be looking at picking up a "jewel". And we've been monitoring the povari as out daily "jewel" while keeping the ego around as a public vape.

I'll be curious to read more on this forum about the povari with a good tank.

Great to hear the endorsements. We've looked into a few VV mods similar. We keep going back to provari.

Now. We ordered the new ego c this week. Love the fact that you have a VV in it. We talked about adding te provari as Xmas gifts to each other for the regular use vape. eGo would be my public, less inquiry inviting stick. Although I'm not sure we'll make it to Xmas. :) It is some change to drop on two but seems well worth it.

To be blunt, you can get a great vape from a $300 gold Provari, but you can also get a great vape from a $20 SD Keyring or almost anything in between. You can also set any mod up to produce the worse vape you could ever imagine any time you want to. So how you choose to use whatever mod you have is more important than what mod you have.
So just get the one(s) that float your boat, there is no law that says you have to like the one(s) I like.

I'm looking at the Lava Tube (L Rider) and the Provari ... I've heard good things about both and there is quite a difference in cost. Also there doesn't seem to be a Canadian distributor for the Provari and I hate dealing with the elevated costs of shipping from the US and duty charges.

If you're concerned about the costs of a Provari, the Lavatube is a good "second best" for a reasonable price, especially if you shop properly. You can pay $100 for one, or $60 for the exact same unit.
Apolloegics.com will ship via priority mail to Canada for $14 or less and their prices are low enough that the duties will be low.
Their LRider Vtube prices are $50 for aluminum, $60 for Chrome and $73 for solid stainless steel. Those are full kit prices. If you already have IMR batteries and a charger, the aluminum Vtube is about $35.

With these prices, you can probably get a Chrome or stainless Lavatube shipped to you for less cost than an Aluminum model from a Canadian vendor. Use their 30% off discount code Vtube30.

On the LT, make sure it's not the older version that doesn't work with dual coil cartomizers.

Now, now, hairball, not so fast. Both of those are excellent VV PV's but you can't use the term "best" without including the power regulated, variable watt Darwin, lol.

Yeah, right. But the term "best" should also imply "available". Otherwise, the "best" PV is the one I've invented. It's right here in my head. Really. It's the best.

On the LT, make sure it's not the older version that doesn't work with dual coil cartomizers.

The older version works o.k. with 2-3 ohm dual coil cartomizers if you want to fall for the DC hype. It just doesn't like 1.5ohm ones. Plus, it works as well as any 3.7V mod with the 1.5ohm dual coils. If you don't believe it, just ask all the 3.4V ego vapers who just love 1.5ohm DC cartos on their egos. They'll argue with you about that until the cows come home.

Here's a Canadian vendor that has the provari, I've been thinking of ordering one from them myself... a bit more expensive then the American sites but no worries about customs and much quicker shipping.

    About Us - Vapour Solutions

    Vape On!

Thanks, Canuck. I haven't run across that vendor yet. I'll check it out.

I was only commenting on the term "best" not availablity. But you are right, they are hard to come by. They just perform so well!!!

I should have qualified that with 1.5 ohm dual coils. But I won't recommend them as a viable VV until it works with ALL attys/carto's on the market. I don't like limitations or web sites that don't explain the limitations. It leads to unhappy surprises. If it's the new version that works with 1.5 ohm dual coils, it appears that it will be a good lower priced variable PV option. I would assume they also solved the power drop issue that some reported with the first version on the market. I don't want my PV to dictate what I can and cannot use on it. What kills me is they could have come out with the current version right out of the shut but didn't.

It looks like I can get a chrome one through canvapes for 80 - which, with the other bits i'm looking at will get me to the free shipping cost and be about even with the one from Apolloegics. I will also take wv2win's advice about making sure it is not an older version.

I'm still debating between the LT and Provari ... but the advise is very helpful.
