Hey guys,

I’ve been reading quietly, already enjoying this community. Time to join in!

Here’s my quick background:

- Light smoker (+-3 cigs/day)
- Started 7 months ago
- Already addicted (I panic with the idea of staying away)
- Closet smoker (shhhhhhh… hubby cannot know! He said he’d rather learn that I’ve cheated on him, than that I’ve been smoking. Yep, that’s how much he hates cigarettes.

Why I smoke:

- To cope with stress/ helps me relax
- An excuse to step outside and have short breaks from work
- Something to do with my hands
- Love the clouds of smoke

I want to stop because:

- Hubby (see above)
- Health – MAIN THING - (I’m always tired as it is; have been on the unhealthy side for years; don’t need to make it worse)
- $$$ (a pack of 20 cigs here in Australia is $18 – ridiculous!
- The stuff stinks and burns holes in my clothes (I’m a little accident prone)

I want to start vaping because:

- To help me stop smoking, without losing the fun
- Want to get rid of the nasty chemicals
- Want to reduce the nicotine, or quit it completely
- Still want all the beautiful clouds of smoke
- Still want something to do with my hands, the stress relief, breaks and all that

That’s my smoker self, in a nutshell. :)

Cheers,
Mila

Hi Mila and welcome!
Congrats on your decision. Whew $18? So dear! But I still remember it being only just slightly cheaper per pack in the UK.

Good thing youll save SO much more on vaping. And so many more delightful flavours.
My tip to you: start on the eGo batteries and a good atty system like the Vivi Nova or something. Dont settle on the small ones that look and are sized like a cigarette esp if you are already addicted to analogs or else youll settle in for some disappointment. You wont find much satisfaction from those cig a likes. Just my 2 cents here.

Come on and join the vapers (peer pressure) LOL.

I will chime in on stress relief and smoking.
Guess what Vaping works better than a stinky would for stress relief any day.

I have had some very stressful days during the time while I was converting over to vaping. I vaped happily right through it! Besides smoking isn't going to get rid of what is causing the stress. You can vape without any the guilt about giving into stinkies. Dont be hard on yourself if you have to light up while you are converting to vaping.

About all the shiny stuff and vaping. I think I have most of that part out of my system. Dont get me wrong I still love shiny stuff. I think for most people it has to do with finding what gear works for you. I think research for gear on ECF will help curb spending. Dependable gear with the least amount of issues should keep you from going overboard on spending.

Good luck! ECF is a great forum with plenty of info to help.
