Hello. My name is Charles and Im 58 years old. I have been smoking full flavored cigarettes since I was 10, not just sneaking/playing at it. I started out smoking about ½ a pack a day but by the time I was 12 I had both parents permission to smoke and was up to about a pack a day. I have smoked as much as 4 packs a day at times but mostly hovered around 1 ½ to 2 packs daily. Always full flavored.
On 2-7-13 I picked up my normal carton of Pall Malls at the local Murphys/WalMart gas.
The teller handed me something called a 21st Century Smokes that looked sorta like a cigarette. The next day I remembered it and started playing around with the thing.
First thought was, this is a good concept. Second thought was, it aint gonna cut it. Not enough flavor or throat hit but it did produce decent vapor.
I didnt know anything about the ecig world, so aGoogling I went. WAY too much info. All I wanted was something that would taste good, supply the throat hit, make lots of smoke and supply me with nicotine. How complicated can that be? Turns out, pretty darned complicated.
I ran across something called a Blu starter kit that looked really good but the reviews turned me mostly off. In this small southern town we dont have many avenues for things like this so the following Sunday we went to a neighboring town to look at the Blu. I didnt want to risk it since it costs so much and I wasnt sure it would work but I have a loving, non-smoking wife that never complains but Im sure is tired of everything smelling like cigarette smoke.
She bought it for me.
I could hardly wait to try it. Initially I was about half impressed. The first charge of the batteries lasted a good amount of time. The Blu cartridges taste fairly good, last longer than expected and produce a lot of vapor but no throat hit. The charging pack is one of the coolest things Ive ever seen. Thats the end of the good.
I wont get into the bad but will say I have since thrown it away.
I opened a fresh pack of Pall Malls and wondered into YouTube and Googleland.
After a lot of time visiting these places I was a little more informed but not a lot. I did find mention of a site called Liberty Flights and a person named Ty. I decided to contact them and this was the best move Id made yet.
The LF staff was very helpful, patient and quick with a few answers. Thanks guys!
We decided what Id try was a 510/eGo Tank system and also get some Vision V2 rebuildable clearomizers. LF was temporarily out of the V2s so I found them at another very helpful and patient seller on Amazon called NicFixed. This seller has also been outstanding, answering dumb questions from a clueless person. I have found that the ecig community is a great bunch.
Fast forward and about noontime on 2-15-13 everything arrived. I was headed out but took time to make sure one of the 510/eGo batteries was charged, put a Blu cartridge on it and out the door I went.
The 510/eGo battery really turned the Blu cartridge on. Still not much TH but I could see this almost working.
On my order with LF I had ordered quite an assortment of liquids so when I got back home I looked at the clearomizers, went to YouTube to make sure I was filling it correctly and after making sure the wicks were soaked good, I installed one on the battery and took my first real vape. DOG-GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the bomb!!!!!
The last cigarette I smoked was just before I left the house around noontime on 2-15-13. I havent even touched one since. As I type this it has been 1 month 3 days and no cigarettes. I havent missed them at all.
