The button on the futura is easier to push than on my provari. Where as the provari button sticks out, the futura button is flush and maybe slightly inset. It took me several days to get use to its placement. I had to feel around for it, if that makes sense. If you are able to use the provari button you will do fine with the futura.

A couple other differences.. the futura is quite a bit lighter in weight. Also, the finish on the futura is more durable. I typically wear my mod in a lanyard with a chain. It has worn the paint off on both my provaris. But, my futura finish still looks brand new. I have been using it exclusively for the past 2 weeks and have been happy. It's ended up being a nice addition to my provaris.

I mean no offense whatsoever. I own and like my ProVari, but I am wanting to get a VW device with ProVari-like quality. Does anyone here own both a ProVari and a Futura? How would you compare the quality of the two devices?

A critical point for me personally is the firing button/switch? I've got bad hands that don't work too well - is the firing button on the Futura softer or harder than on a ProVari? For instance, I can't use a itaste MVP2 because the button is too hard for me to push.

I want to go to a VW device as I get too confused trying to do the math volts | Ohms | watts - I'd much rather find my happy spot, set it and forget it.

I am pretty sure @VapeDivrr owns both. Maybe he will chime in, or you can send him a PM

Honestly the button is the one thing I DONT like on my Futura, too soft for me coming from an evic with a raised button and a very tactile feel when firing. The future fire button is mushy and soft. Little or no tactile feel or feedback on the finger. Its not a deal breaker, and you get used to it, but in my perfect world, the button would be a little raised and click when I fire it. ;)

Side note: Can anyone post a picture of a Russian on a Titanium Futura? Do the colors and finishes match?????

Hi all from France !
(any other froggy in the waiting or received list ?)

I'm now in the queue ! with number 2130 (why do I remember those figures ?)

Well, for a thread , that's a thread. Finished recently to read all 200 pages and I learnt a lot of things :
- Waiting is hard !
- My car is not the bigger ! (what a great white truck !)
- Some places got too much snow !
- Blue glasses are look-killing accessories and I need a pair !!!

I followed your adventures, even with delay ... what a suspense.
As far as I ordered before reading posts, there's been a moment I was actually frightened (around pages 70/80), but finally this has been an happy end movie ! And I read that most pessimistic ones became enthusiastic after receiving their Futura.

Also I read all kinds of things were asked to Jon, so I'll go that way. I'm the second to ask for this, so if there's a way to get a specific serial, I'd like #0909 (saw someone already asked for 69  )

And finally, as I don't want to stay behind others I'll go with my complaint : I ordered for DNA20 and I won't receive what I ordered !!! I will get a DNA30 device !!! That's totally scandalous !!! But as I'm in favor of nexgen business I won't ask for a refund this time :p

To conclude I'd have liked to have a little more feedback from people very present here before delivery and just gone otherwhere :vapor: after receiving their device (but that's for sure a good point, no?). (And also the display of order numbers was a great thing)

Regards from France and have all a nice day

JJ

PS: for cotton, if someone here is [waiting|having] a futura in France, he [may|must] try to get some fonty coton (the "NAT" version) to give it a try as a wick.

Which topper is that on your blue futura and black provari? Love the look!

What's up y'all?! Haven't been on in a month or so. Got my futura & fell off the forum as I have used no other device for the last month or so & I am loving it.

Got one issue which isn't necessarily a futura one though. I basically only ever use a Russian 91% & have noticed my juice has been turning black faster and faster. I used to be able to swap out cotton wicks every few days but now to combat the black juice I've been swapping it out daily & by the end of the day its always well on its way or completely turned all juice in the tank black. Likely culprit? Watts too high? I lowered it from 14 to 13 to 10 slowly & progressively over the last month to try and see if it would help yet the issue persists. Coils are always 1.2-1.3. Dry burned old coils, brandy new coils, rinsing out everything thoroughly, less cotton, more cotton, you name it I've tried it.

Any thoughts? Wick is always black and there's no doubt the darkness is coming from it (can see it leaching out of the inlets/wells). Darker it gets the less flavorful the juice is too, obviously. Doing nothing different than I have been for months with no such issue... except for the VW factor. Advice?

Thanks!

Thats the thing, I don't like to suck hard on it... um.... seriously though, I much prefer nice light pulls & now that I think about it, I think I had the air flow open to the extent that I had to suck like a mad man in order to get good vapor or juice to feed so I closed them up so it could feed better without requiring sucking so hard. You're right, I think it's a matter of a happy medium and I guess I may have had it set to one extreme or another.

Thank you, seriously (even if I might feel a bit like a noob/dirty ..... now, LOL!)

yeah man it's a balance. the blackened gunked up coils are also probably at least partially a result of inadequate airflow too.

in my opinion the kayfun is tuned to work well at lower wattage and getting it to wick and vape well at over 11 and 12 watts is tricky. it's just not calibrated to feed as much as you're going to need to feed a 14-15 watt+ cotton wicked thirsty micro coil, especially if you know what a fully saturated vape tastes like. you wind up having to do dry pulls from time to time or try choking off the air to balance more juice flow but choking it goes against the airflow you need at the higher watts too and that adds to gunking

try to build and vape a coil that won't require or consume as much juice, so it then will wick well enough even while still having a looser draw and some decent airflow. this can be as simple as turning the power down or changing your build to suit, thinner wire can help too. if you like to tinker, then you can adjust the calibration of the juice feed a bit by slightly opening up the juice channels. this will just give you a wetter vape and will allow it to feed a bit more juice even with a bit looser draw. I vape my kayfun at 15 watts with dual micro coils with this modification and it works well but could never do that stock.

stock the kayfun is calibrated to feed the juice consumption of a few twists of kanthal on some silica. most who vape it at low watts have no problems once they get a decent basic build going, but higher powered micro coils with cotton or hemp wicks can be really thirsty
