I received the following today:

Marzipan: Smells good!
Mandarin: Smells OK.
Honey: Interesting smell; not very strong at all.
Black Cherry: Smells somewhat icky.
Pear: Smells good!
Raspberry: Interesting smell; not very strong at all.

This will be my first foray into playing with DYI flavorings. I use small-chambered RDAs on bottom feeding mods, which produce very intense flavor. I have a good stock of 15 mg unflavored 70% VG that I normally use to cut my store-bought juices with. My plan is to make 5ml test batches in 6ml bottom-feeder bottles (that I have a metric slew of).

I figure should start at half the recommended percentage on the bottles?

1% of 5 ml is 50 uL. How the heck to I measure that? Yeah, OK, that just happens to be one standard pharmacist's "Drop". Now I wonder how big a drop of these flavors really is?

I'm sorry for being such a n00b here..

I mixed up some White Lion at the recommended 4%. This stuff is wild. When I first smelled the bottle, I immediately thought of a white grape white owl cigar. I'm not sure how close the white grape part is, but there is definitely something fruity going on. The tobacco is very mellow and sweet, to me more of a fruity cigar wrapping taste than a fruit and tobacco taste.

I like it. A lot. Put it up to steep, we'll see how it is in a few days.

I think these are alcohol based so they need a steep possibly with cap off.

I had the same thought when I drew mine into a syringe. I use a very fine tip for flavors and these drew very easily, I opted for 24hrs open top before putting them up for a while.

...
1% of 5 ml is 50 uL. How the heck to I measure that? ...

What I do when measuring this small is to take the concentrate and make a small batch, maybe 2 mL or less, and (depending on how low the percentage I want to go) I'll make a pre-dilution before the final dilution (i.e., prior to adding it into the elqiuid mix). If you want to cut the concentrate drop in half, go 50/50 on a mix with that flavoring in PG and then use one drop. Of course, if you want to cut it into 1/3, 1/4, etc., continue on the with the same logic. I have yet to get these flavors, YET, but if they are strong they'll survive quite well being pre-diluted as your working concentrate.

p.s. It looks like I will be getting some of these soon as VT is having a sale on nic, so I can't think of a better time!

I just placed an order of nic along with some GF RY4 and GF Tobacco Menthol from VT. Anyone have any input for their menthol flavor? My wife has smokes menthols forever and she was pretty happy with some premixed menthol juice I bought, but it didn't taste like it had any tobacco flavor to it at all.

My flavors arrived this morning and I just finished taste testing them. First of all Bravo for the suggested dosage on the bottle. All the houses should do this. It gives us amateurs a fair starting point.
Back to the flavors. I made a 5ml bottle of each, and steeped for 2 hours on a plate warmer. After that I tasted each flavor using LR attys on a GLV mini.
This is what I think:
BLACK MAMBA: Tasty....a well balanced banana nut confection with a minty patina. I expected something like Pink Spots Black Mamba and was disappointed. It certainly is a good product if you like the banana types, but not for me.
VIOLINCHEN: Violets and licorice just like described, rather unique and pretty darn good. I'll be making a bigger bottle of this, but it is not an ADV for me.
BALD EAGLE: Now...this one rocks!!! Very good cigar tobacco, with rummy airs but not the actual taste of rum. There is a subtle cane, or brown sugar sweetness in the flavor...I can't really put my finger on it but I do know that this one's a keeper.
PINAR DEL RIO: This one is a good cigar for sure, but I believe I need to steep this one longer. I'll revisit it later
PERIQUE NOBLES: This one tastes like a mild perique.( For me a mild Perique is still a pretty strong tobacco.)with a desert-weed taste to it. I don't know whether it is Sage, mesquite or something else. I probably should know 'cause I live in the desert. I love this flavor. I don't know if I'll vape it straight or not but I'm already thinking about the blending possibilities here. This one could also benefit from a longer steep.
AMERICAN BLEND: Probably the best American Blend I've ever tried.....nutty, ashy, hay-like, and well balanced tobacco. There's something else here but I can't put my finger on it. Keeper for sure!!
FINEST CHERRY: Described as a pipe tobacco? I didn't get the tobacco. What I got was a cherry menthol that I didn't care for. But that's my personal taste. I'm giving this one a longer steep, because similar flavors I've tried from other vendors eventually improved with time.
HEART OF THE DESERT: This is a very good Desert Ship. Unfortunately I prefer Inawera and FlavourArt's versions. Still it's up there with the good ones but, at a higher therefore self cancelling price.
ARABIAN NIGHTS: I expected an Arabic, or oriental type tobacco, but this something else altogether. I taste tobacco blended so well with other ingredients that I don't know what they are. It's a strange, almost sexy vape. I like it a lot!! It won't make my ADV list but I'll be enjoying it of and on for a long time.

I'm no expert. But I do enjoy the hobby. My opinions today may not be the same in a couple of weeks. These are first impressions only. I hope they help.

After 3 days I returned for a second dip at my flavors. All were excellent, except the Finest Cherry, which is a little better, but not yet something I like.
Of Note is the Pinar Del Rio which is Phenomenal, Heart of The Desert...I'm almost done with my 5ml bottle, and Bald Eagle which is just super.
I made a juice with a mixture of Dark Tobacco and Tobacco Taboo, both from Inawera; Zen Garden, Reggae night, and Oak wood from FA, a few drops of Perique Nobles, and rounded it all out with 10 drops of Vanilla Swirl from TPA.
What an incredibly tasty juice came out of it!!!!!
I had made variations of this flavor before with all my earthy and forestlike flavors, but something was missing......The SAGE in Perique Nobles was it! and I would never have known if GF's flavors hadn't come about.
I just ordered four more about 20 minutes ago.
Chirimoya
Halfwarezshag
White Lion
Caribbean Tobacco.
I haven't named my juice yet. For now it is jus #0262. There are a few drops of my Spirit tobacco extract in it as well.
The reason I am so excited about this is because for the last month or so I was suffering from DIY'ers block, and hadn't come up with anything really good.
Sure, the were a lot of ok vapes but just that. Fortunately I do have some awesome vapes that I had made over time. Problem is that it is getting harder as I learn the craft to improve on my favs.
So when GF came along and someone posted that Perique Nobles tasted like Sage I jumped at the chance to buy new flavors. I'm glad I did.
Now I'm back to my enthusiastic self again.

Has anyone tried the Burley Tobacco yet? One of my two favorite liquids is based on Inawera Burley at 5% and I had ordered one of the Inawera and one of the German Flavors but they sent me two of the German Flavors.

This should, I suppose, be considered a bonus based on the prices, but I really need to make a large batch of Burley soon yesterday. It takes a while to steep, and I'd been planning to go ahead with the Inawera for that and then make a test size of the German Flavors to work out the amount to use.

And/or has anyone done other tobaccos from each company and figured out whether the proportions are about the same? I hate to just jump in with a guess on the amount. The notes on Vapers Tek suggested 3% but I'm wondering if that would get me close to the 5% of Inawera I've been using.

I use Inawera extensively, but the only similar products I've tried are the desert Ship IW = Heart of the Desert GF and both manufacturers American Blends.
The only thing similar are the %s. Taste is very different. I've tried several Different Burley Brands and they are all different in taste, so I'm pretty sure you'll find the GF burley different, even if the dosages aren't.
Still, from what I've got from GF so far I'm pretty sure you'll like it.
Please let us know either way.

After 10 days of vaping it the cheesecake is still excellent. It tasted good early on but thought aging might make it too strong but it just stays very tasty and not too heavy. I had also got some vanilla pudding and mixed it at the recommended 5%. Set it aside and forgot about it for a week. This has definitely made it into my daily rotation. Taste just like the pudding to me but not cloying at all. Very nice.
Made up some Toffee also but haven't given it a good test run yet.

I'm interested in the toffee. Let me know how it goes.

I still have not found any one better than White Lion,..The only thing with it, I really don't get any tobacco from it at all, its a fruity creamy vape and more of a blueberry pancake, waffle thing going on with it...I really don't think it will hit with the tobacco lovers as a tobacco but its still really good for a change...
