I have to say, I like their sweetener/flavor enhancer. It's not monstrously sweet like sucralose -- though I've learned to tame sucraclose (thanks, Amanda! LOL) -- but the GF sweetener/flavor enhancer does do a good job of sweetening/shaping the overall flavor without obliterating the taste in lieu of awkward sweetness.

I was thinking of keeping it simpler than that, i.e. just adding one flavor to the marzipan to start with. Remember, I'm an utter n00b at this.

Then perhaps try a little bit of marzipan with one of the fruits? But remember to lower the overall percentages. That marzipan is very sweet, but I haven't tasted the other fruits except fig.

I purchased Marzipan too. It hasn't arrived yet, but the 25% dosage mentioned caught my attention. So Far I've followed their recommended dosages and have gotten great juices, but at 25% Marzipan is cost ineffective don't you think? then 8 drops per 6mls was mentioned too, but without the final result.
So what should I try this at, 8drops 10 drops.....what do you think?....and how does the GF version compare to its Favourart counterpart?
I realize that it is the 11th hour for me since I got a bottle in the mail, but I'm really curious
Thanks guys

The Marzipan IS good, but I'm not sure I agree with the "25% of recommended percentage"
I'm also thinking I want add something else to it. Almost certainly a fruit. The question is which one?
With my taste buds, 25% would never cut it.
Fruit ?? I would try the cranberry first, and then the raspberry.
Those are both yummy flavors to me, and go good with a creamy base.
Don't know about the German brand, but I have both flavors by other company's, and they are good
I just mixed up some Cranberry and Bavarian Cream tonight (not German)

I would also test the berry's (alone) first, to get an idea of how strong the flavor is, course I do that with all flavoring.
That gives you an idea of the strength, if the flavors are any good, and how much it will contribute to a recipe, plus the % you will have to use.

The pear is a fragile flavor, and can get overpowered real easy .. you may not taste it
Course, I'm thinking along the lines I mix at, and I'm waiting to see how, and what results you get.

Ohhh, love your mods .. wood is really pretty when polished

I just filled a tank with the "Blended Caribbean"
Adding some tropical type fruit flavors may help. I'm thinking Caribbean = tropical
It doesn't seem to have those flavors in it.
Not sure just what it is suppose to taste like ... now I'm picking up a very light tobacco taste in the background.
Maybe that's what the "Blend" in the name is  Thinking out loud here.
Other than that, it's not bad :p I'm liking it.

The recommended dosage printed on the bottle is 8%. I normally cut my store bought juices with unflavored base by as much as 50%. So I decided to try the Marzipan at somewhat less that the recommended dosage first. Amanda seems to think that the recommended 8% is too high and is suggesting that 25% of of that, or 2%. Me, I'm thinking the recommended dosage isn't too far off, at least if you're using the marzipan straight, as opposed to just an element in a more complex flavor.

I think that this is where my tastebuds do tricks sometimes! For instance, I have a terrible time tasting FA apricot - and yet I find FA honey overpowering. The marzipan was one that I found incredibly strong - but clearly that's not the case for everyone!

I agree to test first at recommended percentages on the bottle. I did that and found it right for many. I did find the marzipan had a tendency to overpower in a mix, which is why I used it at such a low percentage in the mix I made!

FA Honey is overpowering just sitting in the bottle! Heavy dilution is the only way with that one as far as I am concerned.

I wish flavor more companies put realistic starting points on the bottles like GF does. I recently bought some flavors with a recommended starting ratio of 20% and a little over 5% was enough for me.

These companies have to cover a wide range of devices. A crappy topper that mutes flavors may need 20 but a good RDA only 5. I usually start at 10 unless I find advice in this forum for a brand and flavor.

That's the part that I don't get. If a crappy setup needs 20%, but a good one only needs 5%, the (IMO) hey should recommend 5% as a starting point. Wouldn't you agree? It's always better to start on the low end anyway.

Because of the almond notes usually contained in marzipan, my first fruit choice for a mix would be ...pear.

I made 5 ml test batches of both Black Currant and Pear, going with half the recommended percentage (3 drops / 5 ml).

I decided the way to do this was to set up a bottom-feeding mod with unflavored base in the bottle and just drip in my test batches of individual flavors to evaluate their flavors individually and in different ratios.

I'm liking the Black Currant a lot. The Pear, not so much. It tastes a bit over-ripe to me.

Oh, and the Marzipan is stronger than I thought it was. The build I was previously testing it on was what was weak.

Yup, marzipan is strong at the recommended deosage, but very, very good. I put a few drops of rhubarb on my atty....over the half consumed marzipan.....now this is a blend I like.
But truth be told I just got my 10 flavors in the mail, and I'm still playing with them. It'll be a coupla days before I start seriously taste testing them. So far I've tried Maximum, Prince, Marzipan, and Rhubarb....like 'em all.

I had decided that the Toffee would just be an occasional vape for me but since it has aged some more it has really smoothed out and it much more enjoyable to me now. It will go into my daily rotation now along with the vanilla pudding and cheesecake. These German Flavors just seem to have a very good quality to them for me.
