I was using vtc4 but got too much arcing and pitting. Aw 1600mah 24amp all the way now and my mods are happier

Sent from my GT-I9506 using Tapatalk
I'm not the only one with the arcing on the flat tops. I love the AWs, but I'm using the 2200 20amp. Even at my lowest build, I don't get near 20amps, but are more responsive and I don't have the pitting problem.

I use the LG HE2's in both REO's and my Peko. Have had zero problems with them. No arcing at all. I run in the .3-.4Ω range on everything. The only non-arcing with the VTC's I have heard is people that run .6Ω and above. Anything lower and they arc all over the place... Last I heard the VTC5 is a thing of the past and will no longer be available, unless you want a counterfeit...

Never tried the LGs. And yes, the VTC5s are history, but the VTC4s are around.

Where are you getting your Information??
So all of these vendors like the link I provided are telling us stories of the ever elusive VTC5's? They have no reason to lie.... They actually say that the samsung 25R is an excellent substitute. I've seen 4 or 5 online stores say that they are in production currently and that after they meet their contractual obligations that they will be sold again?

Whoa buddy, slow that roll down there.... I'm not sure what your beef is with me. but I think you need to get over whatever it is and move on from it!!! The last time VTC5's were manufactured was June 2014 and Sony issued a statement they were no longer running them... There is a link to it over in the battery part of the forum. Feel free to research it yourself as I have no inclination to provide it for you... Even Illumn says they are not sourceable anymore and are recommending the 25R's...

Are you saying that vtc5 batteries are longer and compact the spring too much? I thought aw's are longer because they are button top? Can you comfortably use vtc5 or samsung 25r in a Reo grand?

That is all I use in my REOs

The button top slides comfortably into the slot opening for the positive contact. It doesn't add to the overall length of the battery for the purposes of the reo.

I've had my 3 reos fuse modded for so long, I forget. Though I suspect the samsungs might fit. Albeit a bit on the snug side. But they're noticeably shorter than the sonys.

Tapatyped

If you check out the sub ohm connector, the end is curled so it contacts flat top batteries easily.

I was under the impression SONY discontinued the VTC5, you heard different?

I read similar articles stating VTC 4s and 5s, as well as Efest, are buyer beware, since Sony's battery line were discontinued a few years back, and that Efests are cheap rewraps.

Slow your roll...... I don't have a problem with you but I will move on. Here's a link that I will provide for members that are interested.

Although this Screenshot (from illumins website) is regarding the vtc4. I would assume that if their continuing to produce this battery, to which they say that the shortage is clearing up.....why would they discontinue the vtc5 which is better and more popular battery ?

This is not a question for the forum, why don't you ask the vendor or better yet ask Sony!!! I will point out, my comment was about the VTC5 and not the VTC4, (which Sony is still producing), so basically you are assuming that because Sony "still" mfg's a VTC line in and of the VTC3 & VTC4, that they would also do the VTC5... It is as in your own words, assumed... The Reddit article you mentioned is now 5 months old and nothing has happened and even the YouTube link where Mike from Ranger went on a 10 minute spiel, what it all boiled down to was, in his words, theoretical... So all this talk is from 5 months ago and yet, nothing has happened... I wouldn't hold my breath on it actually happening... So in a nutshell, your rant at "ME" was based on assumption and theory's and all these vendors boiled down to "ONE"!!! Nice... I'm done...

I'm not "ranting" ............ I am providing information via a link (who knows how reliable it is) ........ But it's more than what you started with, an assumption or opinion....... I differ with that opinion from what I've read..... THATS ALL ..... The reddit post related to speaking to someone at Sony (which is more than what you've provided) I don't understand where you're coming from....... Where are your Facts stating they've discontinued any battery.... and who cares if it's a year old - -I didn't even look at the YT video?? I can provide more information if you'd like. But I'd rather let it rest and just wait for them to start supplying ecig vendors.....?

And I'm making an assumption based on the reddit post so it's more of an educated guess.
