Thanks Maria, I sure don't mind "Sweetie" It beats the alternatives (all of which I have been called and answer to sometimes!):D
I am a Southern girl too!
I just try to steer away from 'Gals and Girls" as we are all 18 and above (I hope!) It's a holdover from the days of Women's lib. I do say "guys" In the generic everybody kind of meaning.
As for lady like..lol! I swear like a sailor and spit on occasion. But on the board, I like to behave a bit better. It tends to lull pople into a false sense of security..then whoosh..down to the women's room they go!:p

Yeah, what's wrong with sweetie? I 'hon' people, no one seems to mind.

I'm from Baltimore originally, and the term "hon" is ubiquitous. Everybody calls everybody there "hon". Nobody thinks anything of it. Of course, it's best delivered by a diner waitress with a beehive hairdo (they still wear those in Balto!!). 8-o

Hi everyone. I am new to the group but have seen MaryKay arounf in others and I know I will feel at home here.
I was a Floridian for many years. Grew up in the Merritt Island/Cocoa Beach area. I now live in hell......opps, I mean Phoenix, AZ. Not a fan of here. To hot ad brown.
I am married, the mother of 3 great girls, grandmother of 4. Three girls and a boy. All of which live in FL in the Jax area. I like to sew, take long drives and not much else. lol
I will lurk around reading all I can about vaping. Have been vaping for about 3 months and haven't touched a tobacco cig since I started. I will love this forum. Hearing the ladies view of things.

My family's truly mutt-ish; my mom was born in Minnesota (to 1-3 gen Americans who were born there as well) and half raised there and half raised in Alaska. Then she moved to Colorado (where she had my older sis), then Arizona, then Texas (where she had my other older sis), then back to Arizona (where she had me) then back to Alaska. This was over a couple or so decades though so she has a very interesting way of speaking, no real accent just an amalgam of dialects. My sisters and I picked up her speech patterns, and I've added No&So Cal, Neapolitan (Italy, not Florida), No&So VA, and DC metro into the mix along the way LOL. Nobody can ever guess where I'm from by how I talk. I also have a cinch picking up accents, I can wear them like a coat if I'm around somebody with one...ooo yeah forgot that I picked up a few Louisiana speech habits from a friend while I was living in Maryland, not entirely pleased about those though.:p

I guess I should probably do an introduction too finally :). Married, stay at home mom of an almost 18 year old son and an almost 6 year old daughter. We live in the middle of nowhere Southern Va. after spending most of our married life in the No.Va, DC, MD area. It's been interesting getting used to being in the country again, but the rent is cheap so I can't complain too much.

Hey Ladies :)

Since I'm jumping off lurking mode, I may as well introduce myself too :)

My name is Kimberly and im hopelessly in love with my live in boyfriend! Mother of Three and no grandchildren I hope! (never know about my 21 year old son oy) I live in Minnesota and dont say oof-da! LOL We have a samoyed dog and a onery cat.
I am working on working from home at the moment. Hobbies include online gaming, sewing, reading, and kid stuff (a 14 year old boy at home yet)

I smoked for over 25 years, a couple years ago I was sent to the mayo for a lung issue (they never said for sure but Im pretty sure it had to do with mold in our old house) I had 22 nodes in my lungs.. some calcification thing smokers apparently get and I had to quit. Well I sure tried.. patches didnt do it for me. My man found e-cigs hmm like 6-8 weeks ago and jumped in.. he of course quit that day, me.. I just cant seem to let the analogs go! Im currently working on cutting down to just vaping!

Hello all,

I have been happily married for 12 years in November. We have 3 young children. Two boys 4, and 5, and one girl 21 months. We own our own business. My husband has run it without me since our first was born, so I am a stay-at-home Mom. I am 33 years old. I like to sew. I can play guitar, but not very well. I use to be in a band before kids. I am trying to learn to play piano. I also love to cook! I have gotten so much better at it over the years. My favorite ethnic foods are Indian, Thai, and Mexican. When I'm really hungry, and we are eating out I can take down some chips and salsa! I have learned to cook for my husbands diet. It's based on the show "Biggest Loser". It's a calorie counting thing based on your current weight, etc...And it works! I can make fried potatoes with only one tablespoon of oil taste amazing! I like to play hacky-sac. I LOVE to smoke! I hate getting up early, but I have to, to get my kids to school. I am really a night owl, living an "early=person's" life. I like Dexter, LOST, 24, project runway, and American Idol. I am a conservative, and proud of it! I am WAY for the fair tax, and attended the tea party here in Tulsa in support of that. I am not a snobby person, and believe to each his own, and thank goodness we live in a country where you can have an opinion. I am a Christian. I have many friends who are none of these things and love them regardless. I am happy to have found this forum, thanks for having me!:p
