Are you sure their Pyrex on the AGA-Tiamat ? I thought they where polycarb I have been avoiding some juices for fear of cracking it.

Ah, no. I'm not talking about the stock tubes that come with the AGA-Tiamat. They are polycarb. You can get replacement pyrex tubes that is made for the AGA-Tiamat somewhere else. They're really inexpensive and you can have them colored.

Can anyone tell this rba noob what the minimum set up for the Griffin is? I have other equipment but I want something I can use with my Rivas.......(lame I know...but I like the smallness factor;) Please & thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by minimum setup, but you're going to need ss mesh (you can try silica wick, but the wick hole on the Griffin is really small, and trying to get silica wick through that is really difficult), kanthal or nichrome resistance wire. For the ss mesh, you're going to need a way to oxydize it, something like a handheld torch (you can find inexpensive ones at hardware store).

You're going to need a way to test the atomizer to make sure you built it right, like an ohm meter or a circuit protected variable volt device that can read ohms.

I think that's the minimum, but I'm sure other people will chime in and give feedback where I missed something.

I hope this helps.

Edit: ok, I remembered that the Griffin does come with wire and mesh. But the mesh was not properly oxydized when I got it, so you might have to torch it some.

OK, please ignore my previous post regarding minimum setup required for the Griffin.

So the Griffin does come with everything you need (I remembered now!), except some way to test the atomizer to make sure it's ok. You'll either need an ohm meter, or some device that can check the atomizer (make sure your device comes with circuit protection, always be safe).

The ss mesh that came with my version of the Griffin was not properly oxydized. If you have a lighter, you can use that to oxydize it some more, or you can get a handheld torch (which works better, but in this case you should be fine just using the lighter). If you need a tutorial on how to oxydize ss mesh, there are many on youtube (I just don't remember which one I watched since I watched a lot).

Sorry for multiple posts on this, but I hope this helps.

Thanks.........

I guess what I need to know is what the minimum pv set up is needed? Can I run this on my riva or does it require something with a higher voltage? ;)

Ah, that's what you meant. It depends on what ohm coil you make. If memory serves me right, a Riva is set at 3.4 or 3.7 volts? If that's so, you need to make coils that are less than 2.5 ohms for it to perform correctly. Anything above that the Riva won't be able to drive the atomizer efficiently and you're not going to get lots of vapor.

If you're going into rebuildables, I'd suggest getting a VV device that checks ohms. That way whatever ohm coil you make, you can adjust the voltage.

I hope this answers your question. Sorry if I made you read all that above for nothing.

No need to be sorry, I appreciate your reply and explanations;). I have another vv device than I can use to test if need be, I just thought this might be something I could get into and not have to continue to buy cartos, tanks & the like.

I just wanted to be sure that I could use it and not cause battery problems..

Much appreciated!

Hydra and Tiamat are back in stock with some parts for them as well.

I have some tiamat tubes, spare screw kits and parts kits.
extremely overpriced, but there if you need them.

Due to what happened with all the griffin tubes I have placed a max of two on any one part order.
People seem to like to buy these for other things, not a bad thing but it leaves those of you who need them without options.

I cannot stress enough that these screws etc are overpriced. This is only for convenience and should not be purchased if you have the time to check out a hardware store, I would gather you could buy 3x the amount with a trip to the store.

I also have the tiamat and hydras little brother the IGO-L which is just like the hydra but without a tank or anything, it's a dripping atomizer and a big one, it will hold some liquid for sure but it's not something you'd put in your pocket.

I will get a better pic soon

The top cap is pressure fit with the orings.
It comes with a small parts bag, 1 wick, coil, screw and 2 orings.

Nice, payday is this friday. I've been wanting that Tiamat ever since they were sold out. Thank you! And are you feeling better?

I'm not very screw size knowledgeable, and if these things fit, I'll be buying them from DV. Overpriced? I believe a tank of gasoline is overpriced, this doesn't seem so bad compared to most over priced things in the world today.

That IGO-L looks great to test juices for me. How many drops you think it can handle?

Been looking for an alternate to my phoenix.

The "well" isn't deep but since it is so wide I do not see why you couldn't get a ml or more in there probably a LOT more seeing as the posts are so high.
I haven't tested it just due to a host of pressing issues but I will try to get to is as soon as I can, it's gotta be a ton more than the Phoenix though. it's nice and clean inside meaning nothing getting in the way.

I hesitate with these things because I fill them, vape a bit then set them down and there goes all the liquid on my desk LOL
