thats great news! gnormly, you're awesome bro! You always get stuff before the other vendors, and you don't even hype us up about it, you just post it up when its in. They almost got their first order from me, but that was two weeks ago when they announced they'll be getting these units to no avail. Great work bro! That's why you're getting most of my business.

Eric does the cap airhole line up with that open hole in your picture once screwed down fully ?

My impression with all of these CHiDs, Phoenixes, etc. is that the manufacturers just put a hole in the cap wherever it happens to lie when they drop it into their drilling jig or whatever. These things are built fast so they can be sold cheap. (~$150.00 will get you a Cobra where, out of the box, you can put the hole exactly where you want every time.) Like gormly says, there are simple workarounds. Give me a tank with 2 holes in the top and a hot center post and I'll make it Genesis :).

Lol. No worries. I'm still going to get one. I'm hoping to see how well they fare with SS wicks. I know it CAN be done, I want to see how well it works.

Hydra in Genesis mode.

guys, im having some trouble with the coil I wrapped on my ss mesh. I can't get rid of the hotspot on the top coil, the part that connects to the positive post. Any tips for me?
Keep the connection as short as you can as long as the mesh does not touch the post your not to close. Evenly space your coil and try turning the mesh to see if maybe you get a better contact with a spot with a little more oxidation. And watch Zen's video on YouTube on the Provape channel very helpful on coils. Practice makes perfect good luck you will get it.

after watching the video of zen, I think I know why I kept getting a hotspot on my top coil. The SS mesh I was applying the new coil onto was a previously used one. And zen said that when you apply a new coil to a mesh thats already been soak by juice previously, it prevents it from giving an even burn. I was wondering why I couldn't get it going right this time, cause it seemed so easy for me when I first made a ss mesh from start to finish with the griffin. The setup is just about the same with the griffin and hydra so I was just thinking why it was so difficult to get it right like the first time with the fresh mesh. and now that I've seen the video with zen and his tips, its because of the mesh I was using. I should be good tonight when I make a new one from start to finish.

I understand where your coming from i really do. But when we moan they sometimes listen over in Asia thats how stainless came about as opposed to the chromed over brass/copper and other changes not just with the genesis styles.
Now if they really want to make it easy eliminate the threads and make it a push on cap to line up the airhole reason being it does make a big difference when the airhole is spot on.
Course they could leave the cap without an airhole and i'll use a 1 mm # 69 size drill bit and make my own but i do not see that happening. ; )

Oh, I agree completely. I think devices will continue to improve as time goes on, and manufacturers do respond to what buyers want and are willing to pay for. My point really was a simple one. That so far what I've seen in these inexpensive devices is random horizontal hole placement. But that's not a deal breaker for me, because I can work around that and still easily make a quite enjoyable Genesis atomizer if the device meets the basic requirements. If needed, simply adding another or larger washer has always worked for me to give that extra play for intake air alignment with still a good seal. Then there's always the sanding down trick, which I have yet needed to do. I support Eric for taking a chance and buying in on these things right away so we can play with them now, even if they aren't perfection in every regard. They're very affordable and fun, and they do work. And you could still always take a drill to them if you want. Fill the original hole with a bit of JB weld and customize away... Nice to have another 1mm lover in the crowd ;)...

Victor they will get it right sooner or later , people complained about the Zmax and its inaccurate settings and weeks later they recalibrate the board to RMS. Another Asian co did the same and went further to put in a OLED instead of the LED display but in the mean time its good that there coming out with different stuff cause were all different so something for everyone and folks can stay off them coffin nails.
Funny you said that about filling the hole with JB weld, i had bought a used DID an original and knew it was coming to me with a huge 2.5 mm airhole got a good deal on it, then ordered a 1 mm airhole cap outta Greece but in the mean time i JB welded the hole and redrilled to 1mm and it works great.
Just don't like the look of the gray against the stainless thats just me and will keep that cap in reserve once the other arrives as im old and and have CRS. ; )

How many Stars for Eric for making all these different things available ? *****
