Ordered the Griffin and Hydra on Sunday wishing that the Hydra had a clear tank,,,and low and behold BAM!! there it is in the Tiamat.
Eric does the cap airhole line up with that open hole in your picture once screwed down fully ?
Keep the connection as short as you can as long as the mesh does not touch the post your not to close. Evenly space your coil and try turning the mesh to see if maybe you get a better contact with a spot with a little more oxidation. And watch Zen's video on YouTube on the Provape channel very helpful on coils. Practice makes perfect good luck you will get it.guys, im having some trouble with the coil I wrapped on my ss mesh. I can't get rid of the hotspot on the top coil, the part that connects to the positive post. Any tips for me?

I understand where your coming from i really do. But when we moan they sometimes listen over in Asia thats how stainless came about as opposed to the chromed over brass/copper and other changes not just with the genesis styles. My impression with all of these CHiDs, Phoenixes, etc. is that the manufacturers just put a hole in the cap wherever it happens to lie when they drop it into their drilling jig or whatever. These things are built fast so they can be sold cheap. (~$150.00 will get you a Cobra where, out of the box, you can put the hole exactly where you want every time.) Like gormly says, there are simple workarounds. Give me a tank with 2 holes in the top and a hot center post and I'll make it Genesis.

Now if they really want to make it easy eliminate the threads and make it a push on cap to line up the airhole reason being it does make a big difference when the airhole is spot on.
Course they could leave the cap without an airhole and i'll use a 1 mm # 69 size drill bit and make my own but i do not see that happening. ; )
Oh, I agree completely. I think devices will continue to improve as time goes on, and manufacturers do respond to what buyers want and are willing to pay for. My point really was a simple one. That so far what I've seen in these inexpensive devices is random horizontal hole placement. But that's not a deal breaker for me, because I can work around that and still easily make a quite enjoyable Genesis atomizer if the device meets the basic requirements. If needed, simply adding another or larger washer has always worked for me to give that extra play for intake air alignment with still a good seal. Then there's always the sanding down trick, which I have yet needed to do. I support Eric for taking a chance and buying in on these things right away so we can play with them now, even if they aren't perfection in every regard. They're very affordable and fun, and they do work. And you could still always take a drill to them if you want. Fill the original hole with a bit of JB weld and customize away. Nice to have another 1mm lover in the crowd![]()
