already ordered.. just late due to a materials issue (so they told me)
Im having an issue just trying to get this to work. I just got mine yesterday and havent been able to use any of the helpful information within this post.
Step 1 oxidize the SS
Step 2 5 wrap the coil
Step 3 wrap the post( do I start under the o-ring or at the top of the post?)
Step 4 get a ohm reading of 1.7 then get the F1 error.
Rinse and repeat. If there is an actual step by step please post link here or something that may help. Its driving me crazy and almost out of wire.

If you are at 1.7 and you fire it and stop and try to fire again and then get the error. Then the wire is shorting on the mesh and dropping the ohms when you fire it. I'm pretty sure that's what you meant

Some people like using cotton around the wick area where the wire would go to give it a buffer but I would worry about burning the cotton.

You should look into these A7s.
Bottom feeder friendly. and easy to re-wick the way they come apart.
This is the phienox version 2 I guess .... There are a few coming out already heard something about them .... This is gonna be great yyyiiihhhaaaaaaa
Just got my Griffin a couple days ago. Using the cotton wrap works perfectly and I have ZERO wicking issues with fill hole plugged. I can't out vape it.

The cotton does not burn. I don't really use it because it prevents shorts. I use the cotton because, to me, it tastes better than just SS. The only reason I use SS at all is because it's too difficult to get the wick down the hole and attach the coil properly.

I always work over the tin for just that reason. If it hits the desk it might as well have dropped into a black hole. Darn pecky cypress desktop.

Looking forward to putting some mesh in that thing. The "originals" turned into a whole 'nother beast with mesh in 'em. Great little hitters...
Edited: Oh no. That center hole on the A7 is the air hole. No good for mesh

4 days in and I've already lost the fill screw
Found what may be the perfect replacement for the fill screw. A round toothpick cut to length. It actually screws in so it's secure and it's easily removable by hand.
