Yeah that's where I ordered mine from. :) I got the eVic an extra battery and the 18350 ego-t mod tube that fits on the eVic. Good to know they're going to carry the 3400 mah soon though.

Hi Riffy,

I figured I'd get your attention.

I'm thinking probably around the 25th to the 28th. My eVic had to go back (an issue with a different Vendor), so I'm really looking forward to getting another one. And this 3400 should be killer.

I can't believe the mah ratings on these batteries. That's some good engineering.

I'm thinking I'll likely be able to double my vaping time on a single battery when my evic arrives (currently using 1100mah -18490s in my ProVari). I halfheartedly tried to look for the 3400mah batteries yesterday, but didn't find them. I'm glad I didn't look too hard. I did buy 2 extra batteries for the evic though -- I tend to vape a lot!

Looking at all the custom tubing that's coming out for this thing makes me really excited! The first time I tried an evic, the guy had a really custom 18350 tube on it. It was seriously one of the coolest tubes I'd ever seen.. Wish I remember where he picked it up! I'm sure we'll see a lot of aesthetic mods come out for this thing.

I found this at carolina vapes:
Joyetech eGo-T 18350 battery MOD tube

Yup that's what I use on my eVic. It's just the regular silver one but I like it. It makes it pretty small..

Hi adeline,

It's best not to try to find the 3400 Battery yourself, because most of them are not Protected. GotVapes just told me that they are actually on order now. IDK when they'll be in yet. Asked for an ETA. Will post back when I hear something. The official Joyetech 3400 at least has Short-Circuit Protection, though seemingly not a Full Control Protection Circuit. That would need about 3mm. This Sanyo 18650B version Battery is only about 0.3mm longer than the original Panasonic. But the eVic Control Head can do the rest.

Several Vendors advocate using IMR (Lithium Manganese) Batteries. IDK if that would Void your Warranty in the event of a problem, should Joyetech learn you used one, but if you get an 18350 Li-Ion, please try to get a Protected Li-Ion that Joyetech recommends. Sorry, but I don't know what 18350 that might be, because I'm really only interested in the 3400 18650. Maybe Riffy knows.

More later...

Careful there, myyrkezaan.

Panasonic 18650 3400mah NCR18650B battery cell
That one is not Protected!!! ..See where it says...
Protected version of this high performance 18650 Panasonic 3400mAh battery is available.
And that Protected one is a Button Top!!! And is not a Panasonic.

Any Li-Ion Batteries for e-cigs really need to be Protected.

Where does it say the Sanyo/Panasonic is protected on the Joy site?

The protected button top is a Panasonic that is just rebranded.

I buy the protected for my mechs and the CGRs for my VVs.

I know now that Orbtronic's Protected Button Top is a repackaged Panasonic, but that one will not fit into the eVic, so it's not relevant to my post, or the eVic.

The Joyetech website doesn't say it's Protected. And I have been in touch with several Vendors over this concern.

GotVapes is very active in working directly with Manufacturers like Vision and Joyetech, so I wrote to them about this. They have been kind enough to respond to me. They told me that Joyetech told them, and I quote...

....."nobody would be foolish enough to put an unprotected batt in a mod."

This was a discussion in a GotVapes Ticket. Since that time, I have been in contact with Chris from GotVapes. He has looked into the question, spoken with Joyetech, and is still looking into it in even further detail now, trying to be 100% certain about the whole thing.

But the relevant point here is that Unprotected Li-Ion Batteries can be very dangerous. The Sanyo 18650B is a Panasonic NCR18650B with protection added by Sanyo (a sister company). This tidbit of information was found on another forum.

This page Joyetech eVic 3400mAh battery is where Joyetech calls it a Sanyo 18650B. The dimensions are on that page, too.

So to me, this is the only ICR to get and install in an eVic, or really, in any other Mod, if you can't fit much more than 18.5mm x 65.3mm. At least, the only one to use in the eVic that will not Void your Warranty, if you have a problem with your eVic, and Joyetech finds out you've used a different Battery. That is, unless you or someone else finds a Protected Li-Ion that will actually fit in the eVic. I got tired of looking, and not being sure, so I went to e-cig Vendors with my questions, and GotVapes is responding, trying to get all the answers.

Do I wish the eVic had a longer Battery Tube, so a Li-Ion with Full Protection could be used? YES, but it doesn't.

If I may add... ..Out of respect for Chris' time, I think it would be respectful of others not to contact him, and just wait for further word from me. I'm already writing to him (hopefully not bugging him) enough. So far, he has been very gracious, and seems eager to get to the bottom of it.

BTW... I asked him if they'll be getting any Joyetech approved 18350 Batteries for the Shorty Tubes you guys are interested in. I'll let you know about that, too.

I hope this covers it adequately. ;)

I noticed in the photo above that the display is blue. Mine is white (like on the Joyetech site). Did they offer it in either color?

If that's @100%VG, I've seen two colors in the Display. Mine is Blue. Some are White. It may depend on the date of Manufacture. I'm curious what the new models that are shipping with the 3400 will have.

Hope that helps.

Hope I didn't seem snippy. Personally, I love the thought of an IMR, but when Joyetech introduced this 3400, that was a total game changer in considering even the Panasonic Hybrid 2250.

Best to you,
