Ya, way slower (if that's possible)..... I did get the hint Slighter.... (Hope it comes on Monday)

Ordered some protected ones from DX.... Chinese New Year is over so maybe I get lucky and they arrive before that sweet little device....

Not a bad price either $5 for a pack of 2 so I ordered like 10 packs....

Let the waiting begin....

Thanks for all the compliments everyone, i really appreciate it! Good for special occasions i might add;-)

As far as weight vs. the S6, i'm not sure, it depends on what configuration the s6 is in, with the brass caps the s6 gets pretty hefty too. The Precise is a solid little unit no doubt. If i had a scale, i'd compare for you. I'd say its weight is in between an all aluminum s6 and and s6 with brass caps.

Hey David
I would be happy to help out here.
Just send me the Precise in the pictures and I will supply the weight comps.
Bob

(Anyone think he will go for that one?)

Kris,
Since you already have a bunch of 10440s, you could get some magnetic spacers to fill the extra length. I have a bunch of these handy when I have batteries that are a little shorter than normal. They work great! :)

Magnetic Spacer - 1.6mm

1mm x 8mm magnetic spacer for protected Li-ion batteries - e-lectronics.net :

Thanks!!!

I have several of them (like 5 I think) laying around and figured I'd just order some protected ones... Can never have to many batteries right? LOL....

I will keep them as an emergency backup mode to use on the unprotected 10440's if all my ones from China arrive DOA....

Thanks again!

I can not guarantee they will work with spacers (plus i don't recommend spacers as if one comes loose and contacts the side and bottom of the battery, it can short out).

The Precise is literally so precise, i took the batteries (protected 10440) and measured the battery chamber length down to the thousandth of an inch. There is no traditional spring in there to take up the slop of batteries, it simply compresses a rubber insulator a few thousandths of an inch.

When i say Precise, that is "spot" on.

I agree it's not the best option. I should've mentioned that I put a layer of epoxy on the edge of my spacers to avoid shorting out but using protected 10440s should still be the first option since the device is made to fit them. I wished my other similar devices were made to fit protected 10440s.

Can you post a pic of one with the 510 / 901 adapter.
I love the look of the device but absolutely hate adapters being screwed on top of other devices. That's the main reason I've never owned any of the AS devices.
I'm hoping the recessed top/collar hides the adapters.

Not knocking the design at all (I think it's beautiful), I just like direct connection.

Maybe a longer collar to hide adapters or something...

David,

That is an elegant design and I may get one, down the road, to replace my older 10440 PV, especially since I was one of those asking you about using stainless. In the meantime, congratulations on what seems like the Mont Blanc pen of smaller ecigs. I await the SS and hope it makes it out the door prior to your relocation.

Best,

A

The adapters do recess down in there just far enough to appear seamless. They are only like 1/4 inch long and look like they belong. I'll post up a pic tomorrow for you.
