Hello all,

I've been lurking for a tiny bit -- currently enjoying a simple eGo setup but today received an Innokin SVD that I ordered from fasttech -- and I can't get it to turn on. I have four compatible batteries, all fully charged, but following the instructions in the user manual is yielding no results.

The batteries I have are 2 x 18350 AW flat tops (18350 Flat Top Battery - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes) and 2 x 18650 Panasonic flat tops (https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...onic-cgr18650ch-rechargeable-2250mah-37v-1865). I charged everything up with a Nitecore I4 V2, also from Fasttech (https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...ore-i4-v2-li-ion-ni-mh-ni-cd-smart-battery-ch).

A friend told me that someone else had a similar problem and that there is a way to get it going beyond the standard "click the fire button 3 times rapidly." I've tried holding all buttons down in different combinations but haven't managed to turn it on yet.

Any suggestions would be very welcome!!

Which battery did you put inside?

Is the positive end facing the 510 connection (top) and the negative facing the bottom (cap)?

I've tried all possible combinations: both 350's with the smaller sleeve and the larger one, one 350 with the smaller sleeve, and each 650 in the larger sleeve. According to the instruction manual, the positive end of the battery terminal is supposed to go against the bottom cap... should I be switching it around?

Someone I know just got Innokin iTaste SVD from same vendor yesterday with Panasonic NCR18650PD 18650 3.6V 2900mAH Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack). Right out of unpacking, without recharge, he was able to insert the battery and get the SVD firing. Tiny button top on the battery facing into the unit.

Three quick tap on the on/off button and it blinks and the display comes on.

I'm no expert on the matter but it might be user error, battery issue (looks like yours is flat top?) or DoA SVD.

I'll keep trying every combination I can think of, batteries switched around, using the other sleeve, etc. All batteries appear to be fully charged, according to the Nitecore.

Thanks for the tips folks, I'll sleep on it and try again tomorrow. Hopefully it's something ridiculously simple that I'll feel stupid later.

my brother had the same issue, he came in contact with fasttech and they promissed to change it as soon as they will restock

Hmmm... do you happen to know when your brother made the order and when he received it?

At the very least I'm able to use the i30s that came with it, filled one of them up with liquid and it's working fine on my eGo battery.

Good to know ... I guess it's possible it's a bad unit. To OP, if you return it, let us know how that goes. So far, I found the company to be very fast in shipping and the price seems good as well so am interested in how they handle returns or exchanges.

Post #5!!!! I wonder if I can go to other sections now :)

Well I guess I'll be contacting Fasttech because I have tried everything possible and nothing is happening. :(

I really appreciate all of the replies! Hopefully their turnaround is quick, I was really looking forward to giving the SVD a try after watching a few video reviews that were praising it.

ok lets start from the beginning (i have an SVD): we need a charged panasonic battery, the SVD, the telescope tube, and the end cap. do this: put the end cap on the telescope tube and set aside. insert the battery into the SVD, positive side into the unit, screw the tube (with end cap) over the battery. keep screwing until you feel resistance, continue to screw until the tube stops screwing. you have now absolutely installed the battery the correct way. if triple tapping the fire button doesn't do anything for you, you definitely have a defective unit.
