Hi, new here, obviously. I've been messing around with vaping for a couple of years now, but haven't been able to find an experience that totally gets me off of the cigs. :(

I started out with the Blu e-cig starter pack and all that, but it wasn't very satisfying, to say the least. A few months ago, I bought the itaste CLK! to try to get a better experience and get more serious about switching from the cigs. At first all went very well, I was able to cut back to 2-3 packs a week instead of a pack a day. But then I started having issues, and so now I'm back on the smokes almost full time.

My biggest issue, is that my coil seems to get saturated VERY quickly. The only way I can keep the liquid from seeping out of the breather holes is to only put a small amount of liquid in it, and keep it standing upside down so that the coil is not sitting in the liquid. Then when I want to use it, after the first two or three draws, it's so saturated that it starts gurgling and popping, I've even gotten a mouthful of fluid before. YUCK!

So, that's the issue that drove me to search for answers from more experienced vapers. I don't know anyone personally who vapes, so I don't have anyone to show me the ropes. Seems like the issue started mostly after I changed out the coil for the first time. I went in to my Local Tobacco/vaping shop and had them show me how to change it out and everything. They are mostly helpful, but are always busy and don't really have time to hand hold. I did read something on here in regards to the draw, and I was drawing way too hard I think. I just changed this coil a few days ago, and the very first vaping session, it was flooded, gurgling and popping. I just took my unit apart, and there was liquid UNDER the coil where the top of the batter is. What am I doing wrong?! I made sure that the coil was tight, and when I screwed it into the base of the tank I made sure that was tight too.

If I need to get a different tank, so be it. I'm just lost and the research that I've been doing on the net is just resulting in more confusion. Thanks!

Hello! and welcome!

Your first issue is that battery. The specs are not very good if your looking at vaping to quit smoking. It's not just your tank, but that's part of it. A nice transition would be an Eleaf Istick. It's small, but lasts a long time on one charge and goes up to 20 watts!

For the tank I would probably move you to a Kanger Pro Tank 3 mini or full size.

Good luck!

MoDmAnDaN had a very reasonable suggestion and the iStick is something people rave about. One of my buddies has a setup similar to yours but has vastly different issues, his had a constant burning taste for some reason and even the local B&M's couldn't help him out. Even after changing out parts on it! While it might be a larger upfront investment if you already know that you enjoy vaping it'll definitely be a worthwhile one! :) Welcome to the forum! :)

Welcome to the forum! Depending on your budget, I agree with trying the istick, or maybe the IPV mini. That one runs around 50.00 so it's more than the Istick, but folks are raving about them. I haven't tried one yet. As to a tank, many folks love the nautilus mini. I tried the full size one, and had a lot of issues with it gurgling and leaking. You definitely have to fiddle with them a bit more. I really like and recommend the Aspire bdc's. They run around 10.00 for a 3.5 ml tank. Super easy to fill and use. No real issues with these and no need to deal with air holes, draw, etc. The flavor isn't as good as the nautilus, but it's still pretty good. For me, I'll trade off a little flavor in order to have hassle free vaping. I want to be able to just fill it, screw the lid on and vape.

Thank you SO MUCH for your suggestions! I will go check them out. I was really hoping that I was just noobing my vaping experience and not using my equipment right, but it looks like this set up won't work. :( I may not be able to replace it right away, but I'll keep plugging away at it in the mean time. Hoping to get off the cigs 100% SOON!

Another question: right now I have my battery set to 4.3. Would the popping and gurgling be reduced if I upped it to 5.0?? Just to get me though until I can get new stuff?

It might help if you can lower it actually. Sometimes I get gurgling and spitting if I have mine set too high but I don't have the same set up as you. Just play around with it to see what helps.

Good luck and happy vaping. :)

I'm no expert but I'd venture to say that you'd actually need to lower the voltage if you wanted to reduce the gurgling. As a customer of your local B&M usually they should be more than happy to help you, and normally if I'm taking up larger amount of their time I make sure I buy something even if it's small like a pair of wire clippers or a few drip tips or something like that so that they're still doing business while they talk. A thorough cleaning of the device seems like it'd be the way to go if the liquid has been finding it's way around and you think you've changed everything correctly when you did, although I'm not sure how you'd go about it because I'm still decently new too. The iStick + Nautilus Mini is what I wished I would've got for my first setup, and I quickly learned that getting the cheaper setups caused me way more problems than it was worth to save a few bucks.

Edit: Seems as though I left this page open for too long and someone beat me to it :)

Thank you again! I was really excited about getting this one, because of the variable voltage, dual coil, yadda-yadda-yadda. I read and watched reviews and everyone seemed to think it was great. I really did want to get a decent one right off the bat after the Blu e-cig experience. Oh well, live and learn. :)

It's been about 6 months now since I quit and it was quite the journey trying to find a setup that didn't give me tons of issues and I was happy with.

Everyone is going to have different experiences with different setups, but you're probably pretty safe going with a Nautilus tank or a Kanger Aerotank Mega or V2, or in that line.

My brother-in-law has been having the same struggles as you; so for Christmas I picked him up the Aspire premium kit which includes the Nautilus Mini with extra coils and a VV battery because I've had such great success with it personally. And really that's all we can go by is our own experiences.

I really enjoy my Mega too, but my Nautilus tanks are my main goto tanks for my all day vapes. Once you learn not to draw to hard and not let the condensation build up, they're
pretty worry free and vape great.

On my Nautilus tanks, regardless of the juice, I like to fire them and think they work best for me at about 11 - 12 watts or 4.5 - 5 volts. When I install a new atti, I work my way up to there over a couple of hours or so. My Kanger tanks don't seem to like anything over 9 watts ever.

Anyway, that's what seems to work best for me, and good luck on your quest for what works best for you.

Come back and share your experiences with the different setups you try. I'm always eager to hear how something works for someone.
