Where are these ratings you are referring to? I am thinking some of us should be paying attention to this, having our say in them too, since we are vapers and most of us have used more than one device. Might save some newbies some startup costs!

Oh, and CVS is carrying Blu start ups if anyone has emergency needs. Pbsardo reviewed them as decent, there's a video in reviews forum.

Not sure but I think she may be referring to when you google ecigs review some of them come up that aren't associated with ecf.....
Believe it or not, as big as ecf is, we are only about 1/10(guestimate) of the people actually trying to quit analogs with ecigs.....
It is a shame that lots of them get crappy ones and are turned off by them....then they really think they don't work...

Thanks Sandy - I will definitely ask you if we don't like it. I'm surprised more haven't heard of The Safe Cig, as it looks like for your basic e-cigarette, it's one of the top 3 rated ones, depending on what reviews you read. Knock wood, I haven't read a negative review on the product yet - a few grumblings about customer service, but not the product itself. :)

Ummm...I'm really happy that you are enjoying e-cigs, but those "ratings" are pure invention to justify selling a $25 kit for a bunch more money.

Run a search on the forum, just in the New Members section (gray bar, search forum), for "safe cig"

Thanks everyone for your replies. I certainly didn't mean to start some sort of debate, regarding my initial choice in e-cigarettes. I am quite sure I've made some newbie mistakes in my initial choices, but it's done, and we're going to give it a try.

Is it bad to admit that I impulsively purchased the eGo-C last night after reading more here? Because I know that once we start vaping, we're done forever with cigarettes (or analogs as I've learned the community refers to them)! I suspect Karl will want to probably stick with something thinner, but he may surprise me, so I'm reading up on this: Best E-Cigarette for a New User

As to the reviews that I've seen on The Safe Cig Micro - no, it wasn't here. My initial "research" if you can even call it that, was not made with the assistance of forums. I found this forum after I had completed Googling "e-cigarette" then for reviews for The Safe Cig Micro and viewing videos by actual real life users of the Safe Cig Micro, like these (though I admit, I could have been taken in by creative marketing).

The Safe Cig MICRO Electronic Cigarette **REVIEW** - YouTube

The Safe Cig Micro Flavors - YouTube

Safe Cig Micro Pack Review - YouTube

Once I had already made my purchase, I then Googled for Vaping related forums and found you guys.
So - I know I've made some newbie assumptions, but I'll have to live with them, and hopefully learn from them and can share my experiences with other newbies in the future! And hopefully, it will help me when advising co-workers on their very first purchases as well. :)

With the help of this forum, if these end up being crappy, we're not giving up, because I already know from what I've read so far, in the few days I've been here, there are TONS of other options and choices, and you guys will be here to answer any questions I may have.

I don't know how many members there are for this forum, but the ball python one that I co-own has over 25K members, so we also forget that as large as we are, we don't necessarily represent all ball python owners. In other words, I do get your point.

In a way, this experience being a newbie in a different subject matter helps me be more understanding of newbie mistakes, if you will, in my own forum.

You might be encouraged to know that I've moved on from the videos I posted in the post above to videos by these gentlemen now. LOL

Hi rabernet, I'm just south of the airport, and got my first e-cig at quik trip, it was a jasper & jasper. Not great, but it got me hooked. I now have a joye 510, which is a little bigger than an analog, and my newest is an eGo Passthrough

eGo 510 650mAh USB Passthrough Battery

I love it, but it's not a kit, you have to get the cartomizers and juice separately. One thing I really like about it, is that you can plug it in and vape, or unplug and vape on the go.
Anyway, welcome to ECF, and (I know you've heard this before) if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, that's what we are here for ;)

Yup - that was the brand. I was hesitant to give it a try, because there were very few reviews that I could find at the time, and because we'd already spent $200 in two starter kits and refills from the initial choice we did make.

I have the sneaky suspicion that this is going to be almost as addictive as ball pythons are for me. LOL

Welcome, Robin (and Karl!).

Sorry it took a hospital visit to get you here, but certainly glad you came!

I know what you mean about 'overwhelming and intimidating'. I had already started vaping by the time I found ECF, and I felt the same way. Also felt a bit of disappointment for jumping the gun and buying stuff from Blu, V2, and SmokeTip before coming here and finding out what I'd really want, but you know what? Those companies got me started, and I haven't had a single smoke since the day my V2 stuff arrived. And after getting to the point I'm at now with what I have (not a lot, just a couple ePowers and a variable-voltage box mod, as well as starting to DIY) I simply can't imagine going back.

It was a really powerful turning point for me when I realized that I actually preferred vaping over smoking. I'd been smoking since 1984, so that was a tough habit to break. Not that I've broken it...I've traded it. And I realize that a lot of my 'stress' smoking came from being stressed out about being able to AFFORD those nasty things. Now, with DIY, it's hard to imagine having to go without.

Anyway, glad you're here - and keep us posted!

PS - Love the little ball python avatar.

Welcome Rabernet & Karl!! Hey I totally hear you about jumping in and buying first before finding these forums. I started on a little analogue lookalike too. I don't really regret it because it stopped me smoking and now I own egos which I love. Once you get you favourite kit sorted the next hurdle is flavours to vape. I'm still working on that lol :(

Last cigarette 16th October, 2011. Forever grateful for the support and advice from ECF.

Dyanne, I think finding the flavor is going to be a lifetime thing. There are a lot (and I mean LOT) of great flavors out there and more to try all the time. If you can think of it, you can vape it :). Don't have my all day vape yet, even heheh.

Balth

I found that once you begin to get your sense of taste back it is ok not to like the same juices you started with. And over time it changes also....just like with food, you don't want to eat beans for every meal so you won't want to vape the same thing forever..... and I found that things I thought I would never vape, I find delicious now....
:)
