a couple years ago "fire safe cigarettes" were introducted. i for one have always been responsible with cigarettes and never did dumb things like smoke in bed. i really hate these cigarettes they introduced a while ago and until about a year ago, it was one of my reasons for rolling my own cigarettes(until the government raised the price on them so much). i think it makes you smoke faster, to keep it from going out and it added even more harmful chemicals to an already very dangerous habit. im tired of the nanny state, and i just thought i would bring this up. its just another reason to get rid of cigarettes and go to the e cigarette which im doing soon.

little good comes from fire safe cigarette since a risk of fire is still very real, even with that crap in the cigarette. it only makes them more dangerous to consume.

i'm waiting for my e cig in the mail so i can hopefully give up analogs

one of the older forum members said that years ago, cigarettes would go out on their own. Then big tobacco added chemicals to make them burn faster without taking drags. Instead of removing these chemicals to make them self-extinguish again, they added yet more chemicals so they would self-extinguish

just one of the many reasons we all chose to quit :toast:

Which e cig did u get? You'll be amazed at how easy the transition is from analogs to ecigs is gonna be.There are a few things to get used to,but you'll figure it out.I was a 2 1\2 pack a day guy for 15-16 years, and quit all together in about 2 weeks. You'll see before too long what I'm talking about!Only word of advice,if you don't like the ecig that you get, don't give up.There are so many diff choices out there.Stay on this forum and read up on diff makes and models.Good luck!:toast:

And have you also noticed that when these newer supposedly "fire-safe" cigarettes does go out and you immediately re-light it that it creates a HUGE friggin ball of flame every time (as though you just lit some kind of flamable chemical ??!!

How safe is THAT compared to the change of falling asleep with a lit one ?

Just doesn't make much sense now does it..........

When I was smoking... I could taste the difference between the fire safe and non fire safe tobacco as the fire safe cigs came into the retail chain.... for a while all I could do was hope I got a non fire safe pack. The fire safe ones tasted *bad* to me.

Now they all taste bad

But that being said, I was very concerned by the taste.

I quit in March of 09 for 3 months. One of the very few somewhat successful attempts in the last 27 years. During that time is when FSC started in the Marlboro Lights where I'm at. When I went back to smoking I could no longer smoke them after smoking them for probably 20 years. Whatever it is I couldn't take it. I guess if you were smoking during the transaction you suffered through it. But I found a brand that was "only" $23 a carton that wasn't fire safe, and smoked them until my current quit in May with the ecigs. I had a lot of concerns about the FSC for sure.

NO good comes from them. Who am I to comment? My upstairs neighbor burned down our apartment complex in May with a firesafe cigarette. No good comes of them.
