Hi people,

As you can see my nick is xandra47.
I am vaping for 10 days now. I went through a lot of the withdrawal symptoms[FONT="] I read here on the ECF forum.
I'm from Holland and more and more people are vaping there too!! The symptons still are there and I really have some ....ty days!!! :( But I do believe things will get better. Fingers crossed.

Somehow I managed to bring my analog cigarette 'abuse' back to 4 or 5 a day. 10 days ago that was an amount of at least 35!! I smoked Kent.

Okay, I bought a few eGo 's (wanted to make sure nothing would give me an excuse to take an analog) and stocked up on atomisers and liquids. So far so good with the hardwre and liquids.

I do have the dessert feeling in my head and I am soooo hoping that will pass.

Before I forget: I fill the cartridge. That works for me. Cartomisers are not my thing, maybe I'll change my mind later but for now I'm happy to dripp in the cartridge.

I'll keep you informed.

Take care :)

Yay!!! Congrats. And welcome to ecf. What is your nic level......Do you feel that it is satisfying your cravings? Sometimes, we become addicted to the 'other' chemicals that exist in real analogs also......that may be a factor if you not feeling ok. But keep up the good work. You've done a fantastic job. Good for you.

Well, I bought a lot of liquid. From 24 to 6 mg/ml. Using only 24 made my heart race so now I'm mixing. During daytime I use somewhere near medium and in the evening I use more or less low. (with a twist ;))

I know about the other stuff, I used the past couple of days to read and read and read.... this forum. My guess is indeed that my addiction is not only nicotine So I am allowing myself a few analogs a day because I have a job that needs concentration. :( Even with a few analogs I feel like crap....

I will try to stop analogs all together within the next few weeks though. I went to the biological shop today and bought some herbs/supplements that may help me with things. At least I hope so.

Thanks for the info SaS

Everyone is different! Some people seem to people to quit smoking instantly with e-cigs, some, like me, need to do it more gradually. I found going from 35ish a day to 5 or 6 fairly painless. Attempting to go to 0 cigs a day and I was a mess mentally - I tried to compensate by vaping a lot and did too much nicotine and I was even more of a mess. What has been working for me is I stayed at 5 or 6 for a week, then went to 4 a day for a week or so - I now allow myself 2 a day. Soon it will be zero, but I have given my brain and body a little time to adjust so I didn't need to get locked up in a mental institution. ;) Taking a few weeks or so to get rid of a 30+ year habit isn't too bad. Even though we are still getting nicotine, we definately have to break the addiction/detox from a lot of other stuff that we get smoking tobacco.

Just do the best you can - believe me very soon you will not even want to smoke - I almost have to force myself to have 1 or 2 now - but I decided on a reduction plan that I thought was necessary to keep my sanity and be able to function and I am sticking to it.

Best of Luck!

Welcome!

BTW - some symptoms can be from too much nicotine. Some typical symptoms are headache, light-headed, rapid or irregular heartbeat. If you find you are vaping a lot more than you smoked (fairly common) then you might want to try some lower nicotine juices and see if some of your symptoms let up. Or you could just vape a bit less. In the beginning I had trouble putting the ecig down if I vaped foody/fruity juices. I needed tobacco juices with good TH and I also had to leave the ecig in another room or at least not right next to where I was sitting.

Thanks GMoney and dormouse for the info.

I dont think my nic level is too high. I cut down on it because I had a racing heart. I dont have headache anymore. At least not the whole day so that is going okay. I just feel not ME!! I can't describe it any better. At this point I don;t like the analog taste much but I know that I do better if I take at least a few. My plan is to cut down slowly and just give it time.

Welcome to ECF!!

For me, it takes about four days of feeling a little "off" and needy when I am going off cigs.

If you can get through those four days (and stash some high caliber tobacco flavors for those times), you will find the rest is downhill.

Cigs will taste more and more nasty. You'll have to keep having one in order to believe that. But eventually you WILL believe it.

Then prepare for a few days of feeling off while your body adjusts to the lack of freakish chemicals in cigarettes. When you've gotten through that you'll be fine and it will be much easier to say no. Keep up the good fight!

Welcome!

I started by vaping when I could and smoking when I had to. Woke up one day and discovered I had forgotten to smoke the day before. Haven't gone back since then.

Keep adjusting your nicotine levels until you get it dialed in just right. That is a huge help.

I've known a couple people who could speak Dutch, but never anyone who was Dutch. Very cool. I'm always amazed at the diversity of this forum.

You'll find your sweet spot with experimentation. Everyone's nic level is different. Remember that you can mix juices to change the nic level. For the same amount of each you can add the nic levels and divide by two. A ml of 24mg mixed with a ml of 12mg gives you 18mg juice. Once you know your target, you can salvage what you have by ordering what you need to mix for a certain level. Sometimes, different juices mix together well. I like adding some caramel or vanilla with tobacco flavors.
