I just tried this and it is amazing, instead of cotton wool I am pouring tea from a teabag as a filler. I am using Twining's Lapsang Souchong with a liquid previously diluted in glycerin.
I was looking at the gauze method video and wondering ...
Can you use cotton in there rather than extra 'screens' [thats what we call them in the USA ..] I was confused with the word 'gauze.' Thought is was a bandage .. Any way .. would cotton work the same rather than putting the cotton on the bottom around the heat pin ??
I don't see why not, although it would be more of a pain to take the cotton out and replace it if it is hidden behind the screen. You could try just putting some into the herb chamber rather than in the screen holder.
The heat comes from the bowl, rather than the herb chamber in the removable section. However I guess it could be because it is closer to your mouth? Just thinking out loud here.
