iPhone variable voltage mod

Nope, it's not done yet, more of a "can it be done" kinda thread...

I have a working first gen iphone in half decent condition and here's what I'm looking to do (if possible).

- Strip the guts (which i can do without destroying it
- remove the actual screen, leaving the shader and glass in tact
- keep all outer buttons in tact
- use all standard parts, with a dna chip to make it a variable device
- put the display behind the glass, where it can show through when changed
- make the home button the fire/change voltage button or IF POSSIBLE have different buttons have different functions such as
- The silent/ring switch as an on off switch such that it would allow/disallow the device to fire
- Volume buttons or power button as the fire button while the home button navigates the menu or use the volume buttons to navigate the menu
- the headphone jack would house the 510 connection

anyway this is a rough rough rough rough 'sketch' at this point, but supposing I could find a viable flat battery, with enough room left to work for the other components to fit in, I think it could be done.

Any thoughts? looking for some pro advice on this one.

Would be interesting to see. Personally, I would prefer an android ;) but (not meaning to pee in your cornflakes or anything) does it have enough depth for a connector and all these components? A 510 connector's outer diameter is 8.75mm below the lip.

yep, it's a little over a centimeter thick.

You should be able to put the HTC evo extended battery inside there but, I think you should choose a different phone for size benefits.

well the thing is, I already have this phone readily available, and it's just going to get thrown in a drawer or lost if not used for something.

You could use the board from an ego or even a ego twist. The twisty part could reside in the home button part. Or, the home button could hit the switch for the ego board if you use one. If you use the ego board, you could then charge an intrmernal battery, maybe....
