I built a nickel build on the 454 big block clone and it fires weird and yes I set the resistance, .14 then I build on a tugboat v2 clone to see if that's how its suppose to fire and this came out to .12 and it fires the same as the 454. On both I tried to but it through the post holes but the 28 pure nickel snaps so I wrapped it around the screws. When I hit them they produce good vape. I currently have it on 50J on 360F and when I fire it the voltage changes crazy, is that normal? ANY help would be appreciate

Its regulating the power up/down to maintain the set temperature, which is standard on all proper TP mods.

As long as you're not getting burnt hits and its producing a nice vape, sounds like everything is normal.

Best of luck!
Thanks for your response, when I fire it without the cap little vapor comes out of it but when I inhale it with cap on it, it hits good...? Weird

With no air flowing over the coil it is going to reach the set temperature MUCH faster, then it immediately begins dropping the power level to bring down/maintain the approximate temp.

Leave the cap off and blow on the coil while firing, it should produce a decent amount of vapor.
It makes this weird sound when fired... Like ttt....ttt...ttt..ttt... fast Lol sorry not my best of micking sounds

Yihi's temp control uses a Power Width Modulation (PWM) system to test the resistance of the coil (ie determine what temperature it is at due to the temperature coefficient of nickel wire, and maintain it), the noise you are likely hearing is it hitting the coils with incredibly short bursts of voltage.

It is not uncommon and has been reported in both the IPV4 with the sx330v4s chip and the m-class chips in the SX minis.

PWN has been around for awhile, on many different mods(though Yihi's implementation of it is slightly different) and the "rattlesnaking" is well known and is not an issue but can be a minor annoyance.

So specifc settings may be able to reduce it slightly, but im not terribly familiar with the chip so that may be better answered by someone who owns one.

Either way its NOT an indicator that your mod has an issue.

If i remember correctly the "rattlesnaking" on the Yihi's becomes more prevalent when the wick begins to dry out and it starts to spread the PWN intervals out a bit.

But i'm almost certain what you're hearing is "rattlesnaking", also keep in mind, even with Rips mic location, its highly unlikely you would be able to hear the "rattlesnaking" of his mod unless he held it REALLY close to the mic.

If it vapes well and performs properly, why not just run with it?

Are you not getting an enjoyable vape from it?

It vapes well and I do enjoy it, I guess I'm over exaggerating on the lil things that sounds weird..

Yeah i totally get it, but imo for the cost, the IPV4 is one of the best "bang for your buck" mods out there. Actually got to hold/use one last week and was genuinely surprised how much nicer it was compared to the pictures online/my perceptions.

Don't take the mirror off the plastic screen though, at least not all of it!

"Rattlesnaking" used to be a hot topic in the Vamo era, and they had MUCH louder rattlesnaking (and terrible chips to boot), so i'm sure eventually you won't notice it or find a setting where it is less pronounced.

I appreciate all your help! And I actually don't have the mirror one, I have the all black one and the screen is great! Yeah, you're right I probably not even notice the noise anymore eventually
