I prefer springs, but can manage fine as long as its adjustable. I've had a couple attys that prefer adjustable pins over springs. My Lemo for one can get a bit goofy with a spring, as can my eXpromizer. My SquapeR did also.
No, not necessarily. My old ipv1 has a slot in the pin but its spring loaded. Both my sx mini s classes are early runs that have slots in the pin. Whatever you do, don't try to adjust it as you can break the positive wire solder point.

im not sure this fills me with joy. Looks like the Ni calibration is way out. It barely singes the cotton at 550F. This is not right and looks a little like the experience people are having with the istick TP device....I fear the Ti might be even worse in that case...
The lack of any liquid triggers the dry coil condition, so it won't burn the cotton. At most it will singe it, because there is a slight delay before the chip can respond to rapid escalation in resistance and turn off power. In other words, it's working as it should.
You can see the same test down with the SX350J here, same result - it doesn't burn the cotton, rather it triggers the dry coil condition as it should (well, until he puts it into power mode that is):
Idk what language this is but...

so he starts to see singing at 420F which makes sense, not 550F on the D2 which is my point!!!!!! This would suggest that the D2 is over 100F out of whack....The devil, my friend, is in the detail!
ps. I know how TP is supposed to work![]()
In the IPV D2 video, he uses a coil with about twice as many wraps, which means that it takes longer for the coil to heat up. So I'd say you can't make direct comparisons of the two videos as result.
The earliest time I saw for delivery time on ebay was July 30 but it looks like they are in stock which means 101 is shipping them out. So I figure we will have them by the end of the weekHonestly at the time of order it was the lowest price around and the discount code brought it even lower than currently common.
Like you, I already have my SX Mini M and several other regulated mods that I'm happy with so there is little concern over delivery time.
I actually went to 101Vape first, but after several attempts to reach checkout I realized their system was once more on the fritz. That is when I found the GB Deal and switched.
I just noticed their site is Down again now for Maintenance. Why so many ISP issues?
Well Next weekend will put us into Aug. so I would expect things should(possibly) start moving.(Hopefully)
i disagree. It either regulates at the correct temp or it doesnt! There is no earthly reason one should have to revise target temp dependening on how the coil is made - just the final resistance and the wire material. Im not saying the D2 should behave identically to the sxm or anything else but it should be a lot closer than that!
Correct temp isn't the most relevant factor here. It's rather how quickly the chip can detect a dry coil condition and cut off power that matters. That means one's Joules setting and coil resistance matter quite a bit more (as well as the chip's measuring frequency). Thus, the higher the Joules setting, the more power that'll get thrown at the coil before cutoff, increasing the risk of cotton singe. The opposite is true as the resistance increases.
Like it will be shipped then or you should have it in hand by then?latest estimate now has moved to 31st July for mine in UK. Dont really know why I am surprised.
The second video shows a slotted top contact, I thought this device had a spring loaded top pin, the slot would indicate otherwise...maybe there's slotted spring loaded connectors that I just haven't seen and this is one of them, I hope not, come on crxess...is it a screw or spring loaded.
