It really irks me I cannot get myself to order a Black ST mini v2. I really do like the overall design and think it would look great on the D2. I just feel I would be taking a step backwards in tank performance. I really wish the Orchid came in Black. I have learned to build these to perform just the way I like.

Only thing I own that is Black is an Omega clone one Son gave me for my birthday last year. It isn't a very good rda in my opinion. I prefer my Magma's.

My vapemail arrived a few hours ago. Pre-ordered the D2 from 101 Vape on 7/11. No silicone sleeve although I'd probably rarely use it if ever. The build quality is really solid, the buttons are very sturdy, and the display is bright and easily visible in bright sunlight. So far it has met/exceeded my expectations. I'll try a titanium build maybe next week but for now I'm going to enjoy my twisted kanthal builds for a while. This is my first ipv mod, and for the price I paid it's a steal.

I got a black ST mini with mine. Since this is my first mod (I've been vaping EVODs for the past few months), I'm easing in with the 1.2 coil as I get used to the new setup. The tank really does look and feel good on the D2.

Sounds like you've definitely stepped up your game. Transitioning from an EVOD to a Subtank Mini is like night and day - especially since you've gotten a D2 as well. I expect you're enjoying the vape even more now. I started with Protanks (gradually bought every version during my first few months of vaping) and still have several left waiting to be given away.

Gotta mention I was the same way but after pulling the trigger a few weeks ago (for my black eVic VT for which I had also FINALLY found an all black sleeve for on the same site), I have to say I'm happy I did. The Subtank Mini RBAs have always lent themselves very very well to temp control, nice secure leads. Also ended up being a nice chance to try out the new vertical stock coils which impressed me as far as factory coils go....plus, the new RBA section with the holes in the side, which I HATED in pictures, actually works nicely, just as well as my ver. 1.xx RBAs with modified juice channels. I have multiple RTA's, original Lemo's, Billow 2, Silverplay 2, Goblins, some old school stuff (Fogger) and I really do love the Subtank Mini as much as the best of them ESPECIALLY for temp control...the black made 3 now, counting my <$15 Subtank Mini, an airflow base alone with a $5 bell cap...anyway, just thought I'd mention that I was in the exact same boat a month ago and I haven't regretted my purchase at all, especially now that the D2 is here, they were damn near made for each other! The black Subtank has moved to the D2 from the eVic, the Billow has moved for now to the eVic from the IPV Mini II, and the Silverplay 2 now resides on the Mini II. All in all I FINALLY feel set as far as grab and go setups haha :D

Hard to believe a year ago I was amazed by my Aerotank on the Spinner II, that felt like I had just gotten an AMAZING set up coming from the EVOD blisters and I couldn't possibly imagine vaping getting any better once I got the coveted MVP 2.0 and Nautilus Mini :D What a rabbit hole it's been, and what a time it is for this hobby that saved my life!

I'll make you a deal, buy one from Wake n Vape, they're 28 bucks + 3 to ship, if you don't like it I'll buy it from you...I think you'll like it with one of your own builds, here's another teaser look for you.

By the way, just in case there's still any doubt out there regarding the rumor started by a certain YouTube reviewer...

The IPV D2 absolutely DOES lock resistance!!!

Simple to test, really. My build is 0.40Ω Titanium. Setting the temp to 350°F and running at 50J, I can clearly see the resistance quickly go up and then dance around at 0.68-0.69 Ω. It never goes past that. I can immediately re-fire the D2 and it will again dance around 0.69 Ω. (if the resistance wasn't locked, it would go past that on a warm fire).
I then raise the temp to 400°F and the resistance goes up again and stops around 0.72 Ω this time. No matter whether I fire a cold atty or warm atty, it will go up to 0.72 at that temp (on my coil). I can do this with any temp setting and the D2 will consistently stop at a specific resistance.

Now, for sh*ts and giggles, I reset the lock while the atty was warm (kids, don't try this at home), and it locked at 0.47 Ω. I then fired at the same temp and joules. As expected, this time the vape was MUCH hotter and resistance went up considerably higher than previously.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Stop teasing!
I have (2) nice STM clones in my FT basket along with (2) Authentic v2 build decks. Just waiting for my GearBest Refund to be processed.
The pair will only run the cost of one original and I can't pass on the Zephyrus.:D

*** Never any doubt in my mind the D2 Properly locks.

Anyone else notice that while in Ti01 mode you have to push the temp up quite a bit? I'm running a goblin with a dual Ti build that ohms out to .167 on the D2 and I'm having to go up to 500°F and a little above to get the vape I like at with a Ni coil in Ni200 mode.

I have noticed whenever I run dual coils I have to bump up the temp. I think this is normal, although 500 degrees is a little bit high. What happens when you bump up the joules @ 460°F is it still too cool?

Did what you suggested and noticed at higher joules the ramp up time is shorter but the overall heat that I've become accustomed to isn't there. I'm at 530° F 35 joules now. Funny thing is I vaped my goblin dry, bone dry "No Liquid" and no burnt hits. So I'm guessing I'm still safe from burning my wick at that temp.

At 530 you should be getting very hot vape. Did you lock it at room temp?

Edit: Other thoughts. While the coil may have been too cold when locked, it's unlikely. Maybe your build has shifted somehow or the resistance got effected by something else. I would try just locking it again at room temp. See if that helps.

Yea I double checked my D2's ohm reading against my ohm meter and my DNA 40's and other TC mods. It's within spec. Locked it at room temperature. 530° doesn't give me a hot vape it's kinda warm. Just where I like it. But I've noticed I have to set it up the same way on my ipv4 with Ti01 update. I'm thinking that p4you just set a low value for the TCR curve. My wicks ain't burning at 530 when their dry, so I'm ok. My current setup:

Interesting. Well, as long as you like the vape, you're good. The temp is really just a reference for you (this atty on this device likes 530) But I'm still curious why. :)

Saw this question (below) in the "New Member" Forum. If anyone can answer it here is the thread: IPV D2 step down | E-Cigarette Forum

Hey guyz!

I read in the comments on Youtube that IPV D2 in power mode at 7W(0.25ohm) hits like it was at 50W. Could someone please confirm this? That would mean it has no step down in power mode which is very strange since it must have step down to run TC.

Thanks. (I would have posted in the IPV D2 thread if I had the privileges)
