Triton is only a juice hog with sub ohm coils. The 1.8 ohm coils burn juice at roughly the same rate as a Nautilus coil at the same wattage. Physics.

Okay. That makes sense. But then, if the Aspire Triton 1.8 ohm coil isn't using anymore juice than a Nautilus Mini (that I already have anyway), at least for MTL use, why should I switch to using a Triton tank? Vapor production would be about the same right? And flavor delivery fairly similar - at least with the newer OCC heads? I doubt the performance difference is all that different. The Triton has top fill and a larger juice capacity (both nice features), but it is much larger (and more costly) than a Nautilus Mini. So I just don't see the need to get a Triton right away as a Nautilus Mini replacement. Are the replacement coils comparable in price? Do the Atlantis coils last longer? Those are relavent factors that could change my mind, but I have not seen all that much in direct comparison info yet. Probably because the sub ohm capability of the Triton is what is (understandably) most often talked about.

Totally off subject of Triton vs. Nautilus for MTL hits, what kind of carriers (for those that use them at all) have people here been using to carry their IPV D2 setup? I've seen this brought up only a little on this thread. The D2 is bigger than any other vaping device I've used before. It sits rather heavy in a breast shirt pocket (even without throwing a large and heavy sub ohm tank on it), so I've become interested in other carry options. Some kind of well suited belt pouch thing would be alright with me. I'm just not sure what I should be looking at that would best fit the D2 and a topper at the same time. Something that would give quick access, but still help prevent inadvertent firing.

Should have said Dreaming of fishing.
Can't even turn a real with this injury:(

Two summers gone and the boat just sits on the Driveway starring as I slowly walk by:grr:
Sorry to hear that yeah next Wednesday my father and I are involved in the rotary club and they have a veterans fishing day. Some of those guys are wounded or disabled so we have to turn the reel for them. It's a lot of fun. That really does suck tho. If you got a rod holder you might be able to get someone else to cast for you and you could reel it in with your good arm. Just an idea

Yihi boards have a slight delay on the up/downs even the SX350. I think its there by design in case you bump it. Just hold it down and it will take off. The delay is the same whether its in sleep mode or awake. The fire button on the other hand has no delay.

My up button does nothing if the screen is dark when I push it no matter how long I hold it down. The fire button and down button will wake it but not the up on mine.

Right behind you...
@billybc96 You should switch because it uses better wire in a much much larger enclosure with considerably more wicking material, making them much more durable, less chance of a "bad" coil out of the package, and that improved wicking provides better flavor delivery and less likelihood of burnt wicking and gunked coils. It's simply a couple generations newer in terms of coil head design and takes full advantage of being designed to fit in a 22mm atomizer.

And you don't NEED a Triton (which can be had new for as low as $25 by the way, if you shop around/use coupon codes). That coil head design is 100% backwards compatible with the Atlantis line, and all of the various "off brand" tanks that use Atlantis coils, many of which (like the eLeaf Melo) can be had for under $20, as I mentioned, and I've seen people selling them used in the $10 range. That said, they're all going to be 22mm, so you're not going to find any of them as narrow as the 18mm Nautilus Mini, but the Atlantis is almost exactly the same height as a Nautilus Mini, give or take a millimeter, and only marginally heavier.

Genuine replacement heads go for around $20/5-pack, same as the Nautilus heads were last year. Shop around, you might find them cheaper.

As for carrying, there's somebody on ECF who makes molded "holster" style holders for a range of popular mods, with either belt clips or a belt loop, but the name of the guy escapes me.

The D2 is my smallest device now. I carry it in my pants pocket with the Crown tank on it. No leaking or inadvertent firing.

So while I have not had any issues with the paint on my D2, I have had a problem with the STM v2 I put on it. Apparently some brain surgeon, decided to paint the air tube inside the tank. From changing coils (or possibly the pg in juice or both), the paint has started to come off in pieces.
I found black pieces of paint floating in my juice.
Obviously drained, cleaned, and took out of rotation.
I ordered a bell cap to save the base, but wanted to give everyone with a black STM a heads up. Vaping paint flecks is no bueno!

Yah the clones are identical. Ive never seen a real one do that where did you get it? The flakes will not get thru the cotton but still its kinda weird.

Mine wakes with the up/down or the fire button. There is a 2 sec delay on the up/downs just like my SX350. And the fire button has no delay from sleep.

Did not get through the cotton but did get onto my coil somehow.
I bought it on eBay. My bad. Was advertised as authentic but guessing it a caveat emptor situation. Just wanted to let others know.

I did not check the authentication codes but the box, parts, etc all appear the same as my stainless original and others I have seen. I am not new to this and should have known better.

Not the first $25 I have wasted.

Yeah that doesn't look authentic. The real one is more matte coating. Will chip too btw but not like this. This is obviously badly painted.
